Here`s me, just follow the link. If anyone with webfu can be bothered, feel free to post it to the board.
This has been a shattering experience, I think I`ll go and look at some icons.

if you can`t work the link, I look like a bald Robin Williams, sort of.

thanks for the nice trailer, Pete. I too have reservations - it`s obviously an accounting-driven movie, the last Aliens movie was woeful. Still, you never know.
Now, when are we going to have the JDVAP comic?

Gerald Bostock said "A bit of both worlds is all I'm saying, not constant doom and gloom, not constant hilarity and "zanyness"".

isn`t that what we have already? Since all the examples of both annoying zanyness and adult stuff come from 2000ad and the Megazine as they are, I`d say we`ve already got that mix

For mine, Extnct is an example of the pitfalls of striving to hard to be adult; ie it`s bloody confusing. It would be excellent to have a Dredd story like the Andersen story - once in a while, which is what they do anyway. If all the Dredd stories were like that we would have lost something important to the world of Dredd.
Thanks JimBob and Dudley for interesting posts here. Dudley, I think the homosexual meaning of `gay` meaning has lost its` monopoly on the word, just as the cheerful meaning is gone for good.

changing the thread slightly...there was a serious novel about Tintin a few years back. Did anyone here read it?
WOuld such a novel about Dredd be popular? Not just a novel-of-the-comic, but a long thoughtful novel? It`s an interesting thought.

For mine, it`s better to have stories which are a bit of fun, like the Cookie story, than stories which bust a gut trying to be adult and only succeed in looking pseudy, as sometimes happens.
Was the Andersen story adult enough for you? I think that was non-childish without pretension

dunno, but I like Dxb`s suggestion. I also like an idea of an Extreme Edition featuring Garth Ennis work which hasn`t already been published in a GN and which isn`t awful like Time Flies (does such material exist?)

a man with one shotgun takes on an entire army

it is unrealistic, but so is a lot of what happens in 2000ad. I do wonder when he reloads the shotgun sometimes.
I liked it myself - so much class hatred. Even when being respectful to the prince, Savage kept slagging him off.
 Check your next EE carefully.

that`s funny Dudley

...and one to accuse Siku of drawing insufficiently realistic lightbulbs
1 to point out that women don`t change lightbulbs in real life

I`d better stop there

coffee rules. I`ve given it up for lent and miss it terribly. Usually, I have two incredibly strong cups of expresso every morning.
I didn`t know it was an anti-hippy drink! Excellent.
Mind you, finding an Italian who thinks coffee is good for you is not very surprising. It`s like finding (tries to think of non-offensive but suitable analogy) a Japanese doctor who thinks tofu is healthy.

Go for it Bou. I don`t see what`s to debate. You want to do paintings you like doing, providing they`re good enough and then you sell them on ebay. Fair enough. I think it`s what most painters have done. As Samuel Johnson said "none but a blockhead ever painted a picture of a mermaid but for money" (or something like that).
Like many, I`m a wannabe writer so the question doesn`t arise.

another great Krusti thread!
I mentally redesign the world and rid Japan of Yakuza scum, sing Rolling Stones songs under my breath, whistle, imagine my next letter to 2000ad and plan what I`d do if I won five million dollars in a lottery...that kind of thing

vampira jen that`s brilliant. Yes, his characters do have a lot in common, but the art is great.    His good looking characters actually look reasonably good, which is not always the case. I can`t think of specific examples, but how many times have you seen a character in a comic say "wow, va va voom" etc at a supposedly sexy person who looks awful?

cheers,

Floyd
