General / Re: Synammon = Black Widow ?.........

syammon sucks in all respects.  Bring back the SPace Girls, Roxilla, witch world, Bradley, Soul Gun Assasin, anything else.
On a more positive note:  Black Widow was hot stuff in the 70s.  is she still around?

yours nostalgically,

Floyd

congrats LMS. I'm an uncle 12 times and I love it, even after becoming a father.

A sub would be a pretty good present - if he doesn't want to read the progs when he's old enough to read 2000AD he could always ebay them.

yours practically and avuncularly,

Floyd

Jock,
Stop taking time out to eat, get yourself hooked up to an intravenous drip and do that 26-part Dredd epic now.  Please.

she was annoying because she was a walking cliche who only did one thing - hang around saying (in effect) "I`m cool, me!"
Her new incarnation seems a little less one diminsional.

Philosophy, religion and ethics, iiiiinaaaaaa! (Japanese for `I wish I could do that`).
I`m doing a diploma of education by distance ed.  Nowhere near as much fun.

It was fantastic.  Clint is always the model for the Dead Man, any time after he turned 50.

Humphrey Bogart never said "play it again, Sam".  Probably Dorothy Parker did.

I wouldn`t buy it but I wouldn`t mind getting it as a Christmas present.
I think `mooted` is the word Devons Daddy is looking for.

cheers,

Floyd

Spirited Away (as a thousand other posters have probably already told you) is the latest brilliant movie from Studio Ghibli and Hiyao Miyazaki.  It`s a fantastic animated movie.  Well worth a look as are Laputa and Totoro from the same movie studio

General / the worst war movie ever
10 October, 2003, 05:01:55 AM
I`m not much of a threat starter but this is a natural corollary to that other threat about war movies.
What is your least favourite war movie?

my candidate for the worst is Force 10 From Navarone, featuring Edward Fox at his most annoying, Harrison Ford as a yank who doesn`t say anything and...who cares.

wether he`s terrific or the most awful person on earth, a longer return of Lobster Random would be brilliant.

That`s taking a lot for granted!  I`ve been rereading some of Ennis` work on Dredd and it unsucked.  Goodnight Kiss was brilliant as was Return of the King.  The stuff that wasn`t brilliant was okay.
Of course you`re entitled to your opinion on it and I haven`t read the Ultimates or Punisher (I haven`t read him since 1976 or thereabouts).
You`ve got a point about Crusade - it started off well but the rationale for the contest never really got going and the end was a bit sudden.  Not a masterpiece but something I enjoy rereading.

hoo roo,

Floyd

big things are bigger than small things, ceteris paribus

likewise, hot things are usually, all things being equal, hotter than cold things
