I thought it was going to be a torrid thread about UKdane's exploits in Copenhagen nightclubs

I got 0ut of the defence dept after seven miserable years, worked in employment for three better ones. Then we elected an evil PM who thought the unemployed could look after themselves, so I took a package and went to Japan on the proceeds. whilst there I acquired a wife and child, got the best jobs ever after being sacked, and then high tailed it back to aus after 8 years

cheers,

Floyd

Witchworld was excellent and I wouldn't mind an ee of it.  Mazeworld certainly would make a great ee.  I don't reckon Shadows was much chop, but very much of its time

it'd be great to reboot Durham Red back to just being a Strontium Dog who didn't wander the terribly  far future dressed in a shoelace fighting the ultimate whatsit she ended up fighting.  As some of those one offs about her attempted to do

there go Alan Moore's chances of a post-comics career in the Florida school system:

Hey son, why have you bought that gigantic papier-mache snake home from school?

hooray for Longman, rugged sun-bronzed greetings to you!

PVS, if I finish this assignment, I'm buying Omnivistascope as a reward, partly out of compassion for your worthy efforts, partly because I like getting nice shiny things from overseas and partly because I've just read a rave review of OVS in an old Megazine.

yours, dragging himself back to 'inclusive education'

i've read his comments about 'watermelon smiles' in context and I think they were wrong. For Boris this would probably mean I was excessively politically correct, which in this context means 'capable of seeing that words can be racist'
What are these issues of race he's not going to tip-toe around?  Are black people being given get-out-of-jail free cards due to that excessive political correctness?
As for his bumbling persona meaning he's not able to spin or lie, most people are wrong if that's what they think. A certain amount of self-deprecation and contrived goofiness don't guarantee sincerity any more than Bill Clinton's saxaphone playing did.  Boris is quite capable of lying - didn't it cost him a job already?

oh well, it could have been worse. Tokyo has a mayor who says that it's impossible to count above 20 in French and who funds dna testing for 'foreignness' at crime scenes

I apologise for any offence caused to chimpanzee owners and all those people who knew that Dave was an Orangutang.
As for Johnson, well, if it keeps him from writing stuff ,your country is probably better off

I've just read that Tory Twit Boris Johnson has become Mayor of London.  As a long-time Spectator reader, I find this inexplicable, having read a lot of his 'aren't I a jolly Wodehouseish quipper' editorials and endured all the space he gave his girlfriend to pretend to be Dorothy Parker.
Was the other guy that bad? Is it all an anti-Brown backlash? etc etc

over to you

1. Mike Carrol 1
2. RAC
3. Umpty

but it's a tough choice, they're all pretty good except the one with the old joke about Birmingham without the charm
