Yum...really nice.  I'd recommend FutureQuake if you have some time to practise on a script or two (they don't pay, but never mind!!).

I like the semi-colon; they can leave that well alone.

Commas :-
Use as best suits the sentence and also for lists.  If you feel you need a comma then put it in (or make a longer sentence two or more shorter sentences).

As for toilet training - my advice would be don't push the kid too hard.  A friend's kid was toilet-trained and out of nappies very early on - still shat his pants all the time though, poor kid, but mummy was very proud he didn't need the nappy any more!  Our nipper was months and months later being trained, but had a lot less incidents when he was out of nappies.  Be patient. We found another good option to the star-chart was chocolate buttons...good luck to you and Adam.

Actually...the most disturbing short comic story for me was in Something Wicked (#2 IIRC)...how a little walk in the country could go so, well...wrong.

That's the one Ush...it was pretty full-on, but strangely boring.  Still a few things in it that disturbed my fragile mind at the time though.

Anyone ever read Faust?  That was a disturbing read at times.

Well...that's the one film I haven't seen with him yet - he watch it with the wife, but he has been coming up to me recently and 'ripping out my heart' and showing it to me still beating...so I guess it is in there in some shape or form!!!  He's 5, and his mum was a little slow on the fast forward during this scene!!

Got the box-set for my boy and he loves the films.  Watched the third one again on the weekend and it's great.  I REALLY want to see blimps flying around again.

They'd be unstoppable...there's not many people who would dare to go up against a Welsh Women if she was in full flow!

My lame idea for the Welsh Judges...

My idea is a completely seperate city where the majority of the people live underground and (some of) the judges fly around on the back of dragons with whom they share psi-pyro-technic abilities.

The land is seperated from brit-cit by a wall of fire that runs down the line of the old severn river. The fire started as a result of the various dumped waste and nuclear wars, but is now (secretely) maintained by the welsh judges as in a 'cooler' form of the megs big walls.

There is a constant threat to the populace from the Pwwca (pronounced Pucca, as in Pwwca-Trywen) who tend to live in and around the old slate mines in North Wales, but are making bolder attacks on the various city blocks.

After the next major disaster in the big meg the meg-jugdes decide that they need to expand the living spaces below ground and send a technical-diplomatic team to wales-cit (Cymru-Cit) to learn about their advanced mining technology. But the real reason is to try and find out more about the surmised sybiotic relationship that some of the judges have with the dragons. (this is after a spate of suspicious fire-related incidents in the meg (a result of a criminal element from cymru-cit who have managed to replicate a form of the psi-pyro ability)).

This all links up with a major attack from the Pwwca that could have a major affect on not just cymru-cit's future but that of the world as well. And it just so happens that JD is on hand to work alongside a Cymru Judge or two to save the world (and they all live happily ever after).

Or something like that anyway....
