Thread should have been locked at this point. That is the definitive Dredd chin.

First time I've seen that panel and it's a beaut but it does follow a common Carlos trope, as evidenced with Stainless Steel Rat, Major Eazy and Cursed Earth Koburn - make all leading men look like James Coburn.

Admittedly here it's a youthful JC before he went prematurely grey, maybe back when he was doing TV westerns in the late 50s.

I have long been mesmerized by the sketch that Bisley made for Judgement on Gotham.

Totally non-canon, totally unauthorised, and totally rejected by management but a great look. Almost Bruce Wayne-ish.

I am too much of a noob to upload images, but it's on page 150 of Thrill Power Overload if someone else can do the honours.

Took me a while to warm to Tom Foster's art in the Dredd story but my god, that panel on the second page with Judge Copper dwarfed by the two SJS droids put a lump in my throat.

Incredible sense of scale.

Speaking of one panel endings, is The Mean Team the worst ending we've ever had? It sticks out for being so hilariously sudden

Yes, totally agree. Especially galling as those seven pages of Mean Team's first episode are a masterclass in storytelling: peerless world building; multiple character sketches; team hierarchy explained; Bad Jack's motivation hinted at; a full semi final that shows us rules of play then a phenomenal ("Now pick up the flag and let's hit the showers") cliff hanger.

Incredible.

Contrast that with the final frame of Return of the Mean Team...I mean it's enough to make you weep.

anyone not voting for The Apocalypse War is just disrespecting Judge Souster's memory...and that ain't right.

both beloved, but Tour of Duty squeaks it.

Very tough pair to vote on.

DoC is tremendous from beginning to end, the pace is thrilling, the politics are handled beautifully and in Wile and Haldane we witness the two most destructive and terrifying enemies MC1 has ever faced.

However, as has been mentioned earlier on the thread, without Apocalypse War there would be no Day of Chaos.

So my vote has to be for Apocalypse War

Martin Sinfield exits stage left, his cape unfurling as he leaves the frame.

Fade to black.

Out of the Undercity - A very good story related to the underworld as the werewolves tale gets another jab at it (old faces return as well). The art by Critchlow is just as great as his new style is again displayed here.

Whole-heartedly agree with this. It took me a while to track down Out of the Undercity (I bought the Mega Collection 74 solely to read it) and despite my high expectations it exceeded them.

Fab Carl Critchlow art, an empathetic Dredd, a wonderfully fleshed out Judge Prager and a perfect ending.

Judge Child every day of the week.

I even think the romance between Buggo and Uglika was more convincing than between Ami and Bennett.
