I'm lucky enough to have a five year old son, so I can play with lightsabers and toy guns with impunity.

Remember those airfix toy soldiers you used to get? They done some that were 'futuristic', with laser guns etc. Well, I used to play with them, and pretend they were Mean Arena teams.

I can't believe I just admitted to that.

'why put down good stuff just because you stopped reading it before ?'

I was thinking about this recently, you know, I stopped reading now I'm back.
Obviously I did this too, but I realised that I 'came back' about fifteen or sixteen years ago!
I'm married with two children and my mum still buys my prog!!

That seems to be the answer.
It's a link to a shopping site, so it'll be members only.
Thanks for that.
Pity, cause it's a cool spidey toy of him dressed up like a policeman. And there is a fireman one too, as well as an incredible Hulk with a jackhammer (I am not making this up)
Go to the US toys r us if you really want to see it.

'Anyone here prepared to say if they have been influenced by anything they have seen in 2K? Have you had your views on race, religion the judicial system or anything else overturned by a few choice words or pictures?'

There you go, just when I think your all bad puns...
My opinion: It is the job of any good fiction, be it sci-fi or not, to make you think and maybe even challenge the way you think. Dredd has done that on more than one occassion, I'm thinking the democracy storyline, or the one just before he took the long walk were he got the letter from the boy(can't remember the name of the story).
Anderson has tackled child abuse, I seem to remember. But has it altered mt thinking? Well, it has certainly made me think, but the stories I have mentioned were quite a while ago, and I was a lot younger then and therefore didn't really know what I thought about anything. Maybe it pointed me in the right direction?
Race is a different thing. Outlaw (wasn't that his name?) was touted as the 'first black hero'I seem to recall (what about Blackhawk). It did not occour to me that the character was black or not until this fact was pointed out to me. I don't know if this says more of my attitude to race or those who feel the need to point it out.

I'll second that, Umpty, the Belfast one is a great little shop. Though I have to say, my son loves going in because of the toys, while I try and look at comics and GNs.

If any of these stories are to be believed, some Amadala scenes have already been filmed for said insertion. Also I seem to remember reading that John Williams has expressed a desire to rejig the soundtrack for Ep.4 to include the Imperial March.

Why??
