I always have a lot of mixed feelings about the movie.  But we've since seen that just about any good comic book can make a bad movie (Alan Moore's had particularly bad luck with 4 films).

I'd still press for a Directors Cut/Special Edition with Danny Cannon in full control.  With seperate commentaries by Stallone, Cannon and Wagner/Grant/Ezquerra.

If there is a 30th I'll try and make it this year, skintedness or preparing comics has kept me away from the last two, but shouldn't be a problem this time, I hopes.

Do we need another alternative ending, there were (at least) 4 goodbye's between the rose and the doctor in that episode.

The Doctor says goodbye as Rose is zapped to the alternative world.  All very perfunctory, perhaps that wasn't emotionally satisfying enough.

But she comes back, then there's the dying screaming goodbye.  As the Doctor sees Rose die in a long drawn out set piece.  But that seems a bit of a sad end, so luckily, the world's spawniest man arrives to save her just in time.

They say goodbye through the medium of walls, while Jackie Dad and Mickey stare at the distraught Rose and for some reason link hands.  Does this sort of thing happen in real life, am I missing out onthese normal everyday emotional interactions? Next time I see someone fall over and cry, I might try linking hands with some passing people and see if it makes the situation better.

However while the wall thing is touching, it might not be an absolute definte goodbye, and leave us without the closure we need, so after a long drive to a welsh beach with Rose gabbing on saying 'are we there yet The Doctor projects himself across dimensions to say goodbye again, before going off for a bit of a cry.

Sadly that means he never got to say he loved her, but perhaps in the christmas episode he could retro-engineer some love particles to transcend Emo-Space and spell it out in dead daleks across the sky...

THE DOCTOR LUVS ROSE 4 EVA!

Still, a piano works as well, very funny.

I have you as the EIN editor at yahoomail, is that correct?  I deleted all the other addresses for you a while back.

Send me an e-mail and I'll try and get this sorted.

Cheers

Well, I've sent you a few e-mails I haven't heard back from.

But also, I'm having real problems with yahoo groups as a whole.  Can't post anything today.

Cheers

I enjioyed the Future Shock, even though I didn't entirely understand it.  It had some really very good stuff in it.

I'm almost sorry you explained it like that though, I had the thought that the alien wanted rid of the Earth Empire for its own reasons, probably some intergalactic powerplay, which is why he introduced the humans to the Optimals.  I also assumed the alien at the end had stopped the man from transmitting the code to stop the Optimal threat, leave earth in the pitiful state it is now, and they are all quite happy.

Either that, or the Alien was an Optimal as well, and the virus is actually how they reproduce.

Hey there, hopefully I'll have got to start tis prog thread.

Haven't read it all, but...

Very nice cover.

Enjoyed Al's future shock, lots of good stuff in it, but a bit confused by the end.  Reality changed for him because of the alien who... er...

Go-Machine was great though!  Loved the 60% law.  Hopefully this will last till 1500 at least.
