General / It's a fix. He won't move!

My vote (for several characters) doesn't seem to have changed anything.  I suspect he's used some Pagan magic to maintain an imepentrable stasis field around the votes.  Or something.

Also, what is that Dreadful picture of Sam Slade doing on his profile.  If it's not Ian Gibson, it's not Sam Slade.  Please replace it Wake.  If you are stuck for a colour pic of Sam, try one of the Titan books.

Cheers

Oh well, here for a while anyway is the updated list of those still trapped in the holding cells.  A fairly small list for the amount of characters that have appeared in 2000AD.

Perhaps one day, all strips will be free...

General / Re: 2000AD Crown Court - R for Rubbish
05 April, 2002, 03:59:57 AM
The clerk of the court seems unhappy with the amount of R's on his books, say they make them look untidy.  But ignore him and listen to the Judge.

The list has dried to a trickle, like the Inquisition, we are not afraid of exhuming the dead so that they too may be punished for their sins.

Look at the wretches below, do they not fill you with disgust?  All have commited crimes so grave that not one good man will stand forth and try and excuse them.  We have heard middling pleas for both Wardog and Carver Hale.  They are the lucky ones.

For the rest, they are the damned...

Well, a few more saved from comic Death Row, but there are still more than fourty inmates all hoping their lawyers will get them off the pointy hook of justice, worms that they are.

More arrests have been made in the world of Judge Dredd however and there is reason to suspect that more will follow.

And what of Skizz III?  Was it really so bad?  The Judge always remmbers that little Skizz fella to be a pleasnant law abiding chap, what were Skizz III's crimes he wonders, as picks the lint of his black cloth.

Well, Brigand Doom has been saved, along with three other strips, so all things are possible.  We even have someone interested in Wardog, depending how the last episode goes.  However I fear we will never shift Chronos Carnival and Junker.

Er... I have no idea (that must have convinced him), but considere them saved in time for their return.

Now, do I have any offers on saving Tor Cyan?  Tor Cyan anyone? Tor Cyan no offers, no offers, Tor Cyan.  Coming back this summer, it's Tor Cyan, any offers on Tor Cyan, man in the corner, my mistake, he's looking for a toffee in his pocket, Tor Cyan anyone?

The leather upholstery has been refurbished, the scratches in the woodwork repaired by the french polisher, that nasty hole in the ceiling caused by a laser cannon has been blocked.  Almost no signs of the previous furore in the 2000AD Crown Court exists but for a strange scowl on the Judge's face and the large plasma gun in the Judge's hand.

Back again in a desperate bid to shift the backlog of unwanted stories clogging up the courtroom.  There just isn't room in the prisons, see?  Anyway, perhaps there are some new members of the jury who think some of these pitiful cases deserve saving.  If they do then they just need to say so, no postcard or sealed envelope required.

All rise for the Judge...

I will e-mail them both today.  I want to read something british, with that raw enthusiastic feel about it.  2000AD for all it's merits is a bit too polished and bland sometimes.

Read that article in comics international again and it states that 2KAD influenced the british movies Hardware and Death Machine.  Now I know about Hardware, I saw it at the cinema (minutes after I bumped into Kevin O'Neil - cool eh?) but what is this Death Machine malarky?  I must know!
