I love Ace Truckin, with maybe the exception of the movie story. A lot of the appeal was in Bellardinelli's artwork, often it looked like he was having a laugh doing it. I still enjoy it daily, cos I have this on the wall. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dkburrows/Art/ace.JPG">

carefully opened girlfriends paper wrapped tampons, removed tampoon from cardboard tube, applied light sprinkling of chili powder and pepper, replaced and resealed, repeated several times.
poured syrup over imelda marcos size shoe collection, chopped up evey item of her underwear i could find, super-glued cd into stereo, pissed on toothbrush, took frozen prawns from freezer spread liberally over carpets.
took car, part ex-ed for bike, packed bag, left.

well, i was young, and the bitch did me wrong.

and you did ask.

"I imagine Claudia Christian, who starred in Babylon 5 and also posed for Playboy, was suddenly struck with a dilemma that took all of about ten seconds to solve. "

bit like the dilemma of what would the wife say when i come home with a copy of that, when i found out she was in playboy. which also took 10 seconds to solve

Isn't Alien getting a cinema (re)release this November aswell? 25th Annerversay or somesuch?

i heard something like that to. love to see it on the big screen.
not sure i'd bother with Alien 3 again, never liked it enough to get excited about more footage.

i got it from Rufus Dayglo. he auctioned it before xmas, i emailed about it, high bidder didnt complete so he offered it to me for a price i was happy to pay for what i think is a great page. when i got it framed the shop owner hung it on the wall til i collected it, and told me he'd had two customers enquire about the price.

although i'd love to have the old dare stuff in some collected form, i can't see it happening, dont think enough people liked him. i might re-read those stories now and think they arent as good as they were when i was nine, but in the early years it was the first story i turned to every week.

btw that batman sketch next to dare, thats by that man D'Israeli, really like that one but crossover characters dont get into the sketch gallery on this site.

yes they are mine, keep meaning to list them on the site but never get round it. that page has pride of place in art and sketch collection on the wall of spare room/study/console room/den. have them all done in black boarder and mounts, looks great.

I used to love the old Dare stuff in 2000ad. Those lost world stories were great, the reason i kept reading. Gibbons art was amazing, great space battles, those ant guys executed by being strapped to stars chucked into space, sea monsters, vampires... Not sure if he has a place in 2k now, but i'd love to get round to finish getting all the early progs so i could read them again.

and if your looking for a pic of Dan Dare, they don't get much better than this...http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dkburrows/dare1.jpg">

p.s. 6/10 for this ish.

rip the cover off, and it goes up to 8/10
i would have like to vote it a zero, but seems if you vote for a cover, or anything else, 1 is the lowest you can give it.

got mine nice and early to, nearly gagged on breakfast seeing that cover. come back Adlard, all is forgiven

do me a favour. if Andersons zip was any lower we would know if she was a real blonde. Dredd looks to be strapped into a corset or holding his gut in and wearing a helmet made from something that was a rubiks cube in a previous life. i hate these type of covers

going to have to read this one when the monday mornig blues have worn off.

"Was it one of you people who stole the Bolland from me?"

not me on that occassion, although i have "stole" a Bolland previously with a bid 2 seconds before the end.

Thing is, when i was an ebay newbie i saw a titan book listed for ?5. I put an early ?10 proxy bid on it and later watched as an equally new bidder raised the price in 50p increments until he was winning it. No one else bid, and at the last minute I raised the bidding again by 50p to get it. The lesson was seemed obvious, had i left it alone I could have had it for ?5-50 instead if the ?11 it cost me.

There are a few advantages to bidding late, sniping if you like. First you don't have the above example happen, the other is if you decide on a maximum, you don't have time to start rebidding, get carried away and end up feeling like you paid to much. If I win an auction its not because I bid at the last minute, its 'cos I bid higher. I dont end up kicking myself for losing, as I didn't want to pay anymore for it.

Anyway the other thing about ebay is if you got money to spend, there will be something else equally non essential that you can find to blow your cash on. Only advise I would give anyone is decide the maximum you would pay for it and bid as late as you can. If something you really want finishes at 5-30 in the morning use a snipe tool.
