Help! / Adding RAM techy help
06 January, 2007, 06:41:01 PM
After a bit of discussion i bought some extra ram

I only had the 128MB that came with the pc- which worked fine until now.

The max amount my pc can take is 512MB so i bought a 512 SDRAM PC133 ram module

I thought i could simply swap this for the existing one

But the pc wouldnt start up.

So I replaced the original back in its original slot and put the new one in the empty slot.

The pc kept crashing, and on rebooting warning of serious errors.

So I've taken it out again and am back to square one!
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

The site is poorly designed but makes interesting, and sometimes amusing reading

ancient artifacts and civilisations

Designed by aliens or god?

"I had been in Cuba for perhaps 4 months and the SeaBees were engaged in constructing new barracks for us.
We were engaged during the day in physical training, close order drill, gun drill, cleaning and maintenance, classes and other sundry routine common to service life, including a break for lunch with its attending rest period or free time.

"It was during such a free time period, in the middle of the day, that I was outside and witnessed the Pterosaurs."

Film & TV / Hellboy Animated
27 October, 2006, 09:29:04 AM
Very nice!

-------------------------
You know those two Hellboy movies being created for Toonami? The first movie, Sword of Storms, premieres in three days (October 28 at 9:30 pm), and if you're a purist who prefers Mike Mignola's comic version over the film adaptations, you'll be happy to know that these animated movies will be based, both in story and aesthetic, on the original comic books moreso than the live-action film. Actors from the film version will be providing the voices of the characters, but Mignola, who co-wrote and executive produced the movies, had a strong hand in this adaptation, according to Tad Stones, who co-directed the movies along with Phil Weinstein. The second movie, Hellboy: Blood and Iron, is slated for 2007. I've placed a trailer for Sword of Storms after the jump.

Another scientist joins the race to replace humans ..

Geminoid is a remote-control doppelganger droid designed by and modeled after Hiroshi Ishiguro, professor at Osaka University and researcher at ATR Intelligent Robotics and Communication Laboratories. Robot Watch has released some short videos, which you can see at the links below. Video format is WMV.

Film & TV / Dredd- Czech Style
30 June, 2006, 03:55:58 PM
I saw this oin YouTube and got my friend to transalte it. here's what he wrote;

The Judge Dredd skit is probably  from the mid-1990s, when Czech culture
was just getting to grips with "zany" comedy. Basically, Judge Dredd sets
his gun on water pistol first. When he hits the baddies with it one of them
says. "Bloody hell, a water pistol. What absurd nonsense will he come up
with next...?" Judge Dredd tells his gun to turn to "machine gun" and then
he blows them away.
Czechs are known for their dark humour, but I have to admit it escapes me
sometimes.
PS.
One of the baddies is now a member of the biggest local band here - Monkey
Business (kind of a Czech Jamiroquoai...)

March 31, 2006?Photos of Repliee Q1?an eerily lifelike robot that debuted in Japan last year?might not have impressed you. But video of the android could just change your mind. Watch as the next robo-prototype, Repliee Q2, interacts with visitors, tells off assailants, and waves for the camera.
