Books & Comics / Hive mind, was the Young D'eath
27 November, 2006, 08:04:29 PM
Was Young Death ever reprinted as a DC/Rebellion, or Rebellion book? I know there's a Hamlyn edition, but I'm sure I've seen a different edition, with a different cover (Amazon?).

But it isn't on this site.

Anyone?

The death of TOTP means that I've long since lost track of what's doing the rounds (and whilst most of it was crap, at least I was able to decide for myself).
Are there any music programs on tv (chart, new releases... anything, on beeb or ITV) at the moment?

What's new that you're listening too?

News / Hewlett Gorillaz
27 October, 2006, 12:53:20 PM
Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett is set to reveal a giant mural showcasing the animated band.

Hewlett, who won the 'Young Designer of the Year' award earlier this year, will reveal his murals at London's Royal Festival Hall and South Bank Centre at 1pm today.

The exhibition coincides with the release of the band's autobiography Rise of the Ogre.

The 300-page book written from the perspective of the band aims to take fans deeper into the mentality of Gorillaz and catalogue their progress from their conception in 2000.

Games / Dear Hive Mind....
22 October, 2006, 06:22:36 PM
Totally distraught by the current managerial desicions that have resulted in Liverpool FC loosing so many games this season, combined with the knowledge that I KNOW I could do better, I'm looking for a PC version of a football managerial game. Any suggestions?

Film & TV / Watching tv on bbc website
17 October, 2006, 03:21:47 PM
Most of the video footage that is on the bbc website, is not available to people living outside the uk. (For example, on the Torchwood site, I get "If you are outside the UK you will not be able to watch any of the video on bbc.co.uk/torchwood for rights reasons.").
I guess that they can see my IP, and therefore that I am outside UK.

Question is, is there anyway around this, by fooling their site into thinking my IP is based in UK, for example, by using a "proxy server". Anyone know what to do (other than move!)?

Prog / Prog 1510- Birth of a Nation

John Higgins cover. John Higins, is one of those artists, that I've never been able to decide if I like or not. I think, I prefer his painted work to his lineart, having said that, I'm not sure this cover does anything special for me.

This weeks prog feels heavier than normal, and a quick flick through shows that there are
7 Strips this week... yup 7!
(ok, I've included Droid Life, and a future short)- although there don't appear to be more pages. (How much does thrill-power weigh, anyway!)

86ers finishes this week. Whilst I've not read it yet, I'd just like to say that I think PJs artwork improves with every issue that his work appears in.

More later...

Books & Comics / Outlaw Nation collected!
22 August, 2006, 02:13:12 AM
According to LITG:"
Coming from Desperado Studios and Image Comics in November. A phonebook collection of Jamie Delano and Goran Sudzuka's fantastic Vertigo series "Outlaw Nation." All 19 issues. A truly wonderful title, marred by a hurried conclusion when the cancellation notice came down.

This is the Sandman, the Preacher, the Transmet that the industry forgot. Reserve your copy!
