There are various "spanish versions" available in Brazil, and I've seen a Finish version of Slaine: The Horned God.

I also think I saw Horned God in a station shop in Hovedbanegård in København, which I wish I'd bought, as I've not seen it since.

Various DC, Marvel, and (other money-spinners) are available to pick-up in the newsagents in Danish (which is more than you can say for 2000ad in English newsagents).

General / There's something about Halo.
17 December, 2006, 01:58:21 PM
Loads of people seem to consistently rate The Ballad of Halo Jones as one of their favourite 2000ad stories, myself included. I've never really thought too much about why I think that it is so good, until recently (and I need a re-read to confirm my thoughts).

So if you're a fan, what is it about the books that makes you rate the story so highly, and if you're not a fan, why didn't you like it?

Anybody else notice naughty Mek-quake, checking out the admission droid's "breast-plate"?

(Look at the image on his screen, and where he's looking, when Hammerstein is getting him admitted)

For £30 you should be able to get a voucher from a local Beauty Salon for a bit of pampering.

I used this one for her birthday. It's the second time she's had one, and loved it- so it might become seasonal!

To be fair, Denise *is* good at her job, though.

Boy, did I miss-read that.

...again, as for a GN artist, I'd go for Ian Gibson or Colin Wilson.

oh, and...  It was very Spurrier, if you catch my drift, while still having a voice of it's own.

I couldn't agree more.

There were bits, where I started thinking about The Scrap. No idea why!

Just finished The Culled. 7/10 from me.

I liked the premise behind the blight.
The environment was there, which I liked and I liked the ending too.

(If this was a three book series I'd like Book 2 to have been about what happened to the sender of the message from the time s/he left until s/he left the location at the end of the book, and the third book to then pick up where book 1 left off, eventually cojoining with the events of book 2)

Around Chapter 13, I wounded the key figure to be Prime Minister, just to add a twist, but that would have complicated the ending somewhat.

The worst thing for me, was reading it from the perspective it was written- I can't fault it, I just personally didn't like it, and felt there was too much swearing- but again that's just my tastes.

Dreams Of Inan: A Kind Of Peace for me next.

"After Laurence and I had finished a series called Breathing Space for 2000AD we decided weâ??d like to continue working together so we put together a joint pitch for Axel Alonso at Marvel. Axel liked it and he liked Laurenceâ??s art on Breathing Space but the Marvel character in question wasnâ??t available, so he asked us if weâ??d be interested in pitching for an upcoming Wolverine special he was putting together. It all evolved a bit after that and we ended up getting the Christmas slot on Wolverine, cleansing the palette ready for Jeph Loeb to take over at issue 50"

IP: The Button Man reprint is already out. (But it has the same catologue number as the original one, which is probably why you haven't received a copy yet- call Denise)
