I do hope most of the conspiracy theories I read about are true as it turns the world into a wonderful poorly-written spy novel with badly thought through sci-fi overtones.

I also hope that the Jesus from the Bible is completely true, and thererfore the rest of the OT, as that makes the world a silly place.

But I fear I'll just have to continue working 9-5 for many more years, pay my taxes, avoid crime and die at the end of it all.

Reveal yourselves soon alien overlords/secret cabal/second coming of Jesus.

Make the world "special"

Ironically i got:

Hive Mind.

The ability to assimilate new bodies, allowing the assimilator to use the new bodies as if they were the assimilator's own. Also called gestalt mind.

So nothing new then.

Interested to see more of James McKay's art I ordered his graphic novel "La Cite des secrets" from Amazon.fr and was pleasantly surprised.

The art is lovely, with the pages in pencil & watercolour (I think) and the style owing a heavy nod to Milo Manara and a little bit of Frank Quitely IMHO.

With this example it's blazingly obvious why Pat Mills choose him for Flesh, the book is peppered with great dinos (DINOS!), and I can only put the heavy messy inking style from the prog down to lack of practice with ink or just an attempt to match the rougher art style from the Flesh of yesteryear.

Whatever the reason I can't wait to see how this develops.

Kinda horrified about how many of the catagories I had to leave blank - not been reading a heck of a lot in the last year - but all done and dusted with a definite 2000ad/boarder slant.

Creative Common / Expand my skills base - Flash
12 March, 2011, 11:51:15 AM
I have to do the above to survive and want to move into using Flash for animations and hopefully eventually games.

There must to be folks on here who use Flash and I was wondering if they had any books about the subject they'd recommend?

Any help/guidance welcome.

After Effects next up.

Prog / Re: Prog 1724 : FLESH IS BACK!

Finally got my 2000ad today and had a look at the Flesh art which was... interesting.

Solid draughtsmanship on show, especially on the various DINOS, yet an oddly brutal inking style that blurs everything in a muddy mess.

Can't wait to see where the legendary learning curve, that occurs with artists getting regular work, takes this guy.

I have to say the end pages of Shakara and Kingdom gave me old skool thrill chills.

Stonking stuff.

I take "cartoony" to mean McMahon, McCarthy, Ewins, Flint and D'sraeli etc, as well as obviously cartoony folks like Darwyn Cooke - a personal favorite.

I feel JamesC got it with "suitable" though.

I watched it with a female friend who then turned to me at the end and said "Brilliant, so there's no fuckin point then"

I grinned and went to say something witty and urbane only to discover she was genuinely upset at some of the ideas/theories/facts* put forward in the programme.

Weird.

You're bothered by the fact that the universe can only sustain life for about another 35 billion years?

Really?

*thought I'd cover all bases incase so as not to offend anyone.

Pads on the top of the feet.

1920's style Spats on the boots.

Strange steam grill design on the kneepad tongues.

I'm curious as to whose Dredd costume design this is based on?

Events / Re: Forum gathering in London anyone?

I was bombarded by recommendations for various books and comics and would ask the lovely folks involved to PM all the various names again.

This is due to it all becoming a blur as it turned out someone had been spiking my brewed grain-based drinks with alcohol!

People eh?
