Other Reviews / Re: The Adventures of Nikolai Dant...

Actually fair point there are only 2 episodes missing & both look fairly throw-away by different artists.

I retract my unjustified criticsm. Still, how about a new collection of the later stories ??

Yeh Dante is the best new character since 2k's heyday in the '80's IMHO.

My only gripe is that the 'Romanov Dynasty' collection appears to have missed out a number of earlyish episodes from the weekly (thats according to the character database on this site). I mean that's just damn irritating. When are we gonna get 'The Complete Dante' ??
Answer : probably when Morrison makes it big in the US...

"Captain Darkie is crazy. There's no doubt about it"

"No Captain Darkie was ever assigned to you"

"You want Doctor, Darkie ? Drink of water maybe ? Hat to keep sun off ?"

"My God Darkie, those men had surrendered!"

"We didn't care who Darkie was, or where he came from"

"Got to get away from Darkie's Mob! They're all raving mad!"

"Black as Satan. The Monsoon clouds are coming!"

"Did Darkie decide Oshashi knew too much to stay alive?"

"Just the seven of us to the end"

"This is Flyboy... over and out!"

"The story of Darkie's Mob is finished now"

Agreed, 'Devils Backbone' is ace.

And Almodovar's (yep, spanish) 'Talk To Her' was one of the best films of last year (only beaten by 'Y Tu Mama Tambien' IMNSHO...).

PVS, I hear what you are saying re stories that have nothing much happening in 5 or 6 pages, but I must say I dont think thats true of the new stories in the year end editions.
'Cabbalistics Inc' (sp?) & 'Friends' both looked very promising with plenty going on in the first episode. I just hope they can maintain the interest & we don't get let down later on as is too often the case with 2K series. Art was spot for me on both series too.
nb 'Cabal' seems v. 'Hellboy' in style & content ?
Also the new Devlin Waugh (whilst only a prologue) packed in plenty of intiguing hints at things to come (& a few laughs). Great stuff too from Colin Macneil as usual.

Having just moved house, my resoloution is to get rid of some of the mountains of stuff I seem to have accumulated over the years.
As my girlfriend said -'do you really need all this crap ??'.
SO piles of comics, books, tapes & miniatures are going to have to GO !
But which ones ???

I know thus is *way* off topic, but I just wanted to say here publicly just how bad I feel about Joe Strummer's death on Sunday.

The Clash changed my life and I'm gutted that Joe is no longer around.

General / Bad Company Miniatures Discussion
19 December, 2002, 05:15:48 PM
You can see the discussion on 'The Miniatures Page' on the link attached.

nb for those of you interested, 'gwartisan' is actually Shane Hoyle, who sculpted the extant Foundry mini's before leaving the company over a pay dispute (AFAIK)
