Er, shill bidders ?

I dunno if its just me but the days of finding bargains on ebay seem to have long gone.

I see a lot of stuff (esp. for my other hobby, 28mm metal wargaming miniatures) going for more than shop price by the end of the auction. Factor in some ludicrous postage charges & ebay doesnt seem the place ot go for cheaop stuff anymore.

So is it just me ?

I would have liked to have bought the late but very great Joe Strummer a pint before he pegged it.
But not a conversation or anything, just in case I ended up thinking he was a tosser or something. Or more likely he would think I was.

Who here hasn'y got a dusty old box full of cassettes with music on it taped from friends Cd's or LP's ?
That's also theft in the strictist sense, but its socially acceptable & no one is ever going to be arrested for it.
A law that is unenforceable isnt worth a rats arse.

I'm about to start reading the entire run (so far)of 'Y The Last Man' which is also supposedly very good.
I'm waiting to get a complete run of Brubaker/Ruckas's 'Gotham Central' & Pete Milligans 'Human Target' before I read them too.

Yeh I really liked the early run of Brubaker's 'Catwoman' (before they changed the artist) so I've put 'Sleeper' (& 'Gotham Central')on my list :)

My God the sheer volume of comics online is awesome. I mean complete runs of just about everything. Holy Cow.
Only a few 2K bits though. Not sure whether this is good or bad.

Ok so lets pretend I've downloaded & read a few .cbr/.cbz (comic book reader) online comics ('Y The Last Man' say) from nifty P2P network eMule.
 
So should I (theoretically of course) be :-

(a) feeling happy & smug for getting a freebie bargain
(b) feeling guilty & ashamed for having contributed to the death of the comics industry & taking the food out of the mouths of comic creators children etc

Goor interview, Matts done a great job in the last few years.

One gripe tho' - Valkyries was slammed not because of the nudity but because it was totally crap in all respects. Er, IMO.
