What we really need is a story where a Fritzen Panzer Gruppen invades Volga in order to extermninate the Volgan untermenchen, gets caught up in the ghastly Volgan winter & ends up trapped in the smashed city of Volgagrad fighting against all odds etc etc etc.
Er, sorry wrong comic I was thinking of Warhammer...

Prog / Re: Prog 1382 Bad Cover

Only just got this (been in Athens - no way are they ready for the olympics btw).

Anyway basically i agree wholeheartedly with our despotic piscine ruler.

Dredd - Gordo can write a damn good tale when the fancy takes him. This is ace - i'm not a fan of Adlards usually bland art, but here its better than usual.

SinDex - Dabnett can write a damn good tale when the fancy takes him - this is the sort of stuff we want! Great art too, best we've seen so far from Andy Clarke.

Rogue -  Gordo can write a damn good tale when the fancy takes him, but even his preternatural powers of printed persuasion can't polish this turd.

Valkyries. Excerable. Tharg, people don't like it not because of the T&A, but because its shit on just about every level.

DurhamRed - Dabnett can write a damn good tale when the fancy takes him - and he can write some truly dire ones too. Still, pays the rent I suppose. Garbage.

No - they'd be a disaster for my scanning programme. Or I'd have to buy a hideously expensive A3 scanner ?

If you like youre sci-fi with a hard edge & painted great art, check out the Iron Empires TPB. Its written & drawn by the guy who has done most of the Lucifer coevers. I got the individual issues donkeys years ago and its comes with the Mables seal of approval.

Ok these are the rules :-
You are Tharg. You can choose any 2K creators past & present, living or dead, to create the ultimate prog using any 2k characters!
The prog must have 5 stories and - here's the tricky bit - no writer or artist can script/pencil more than one story....

Here's my line-up :-

Judge Dredd – Grant/Flint
Strontium Dog – Wagner/Ezquerra
Halo Jones – Moore/Gibson
Caballistics Inc – Rennie/Reardon
ABC Warriors – Mills/Bisley

My better half is Greek - we were in an Athenian Comic shop last year and they had really cool A4 sized monthly SinDex, Slaine & JD reprints on nice glossy paper. didnt seem to be regular GN fare.
anyway it was all greek to me alas.

I agree with PVS about the LOTR BBC drama. Also the LOTR talking book is very good too.

Downloaded both (& the orgasmically good Silmarillion) from WinMx & Audiognome. Lovely.

Stangely enough after buying my lovely cheapo mp3 player (30Gb Creative Jukebox for ?195 (now I understand they are even cheaper - ?180?) from Amazon), I'm not using it quite as I had imagined.
Instead of listening to my humungous music collection, I've been listening to talking books on my tube trips, specifically 'Stalingrad' & 'Berlin:The Downfall'  by Antony Beevor. All from the local library (50p each) & ripped to mp3 (courtesy cdex).
Tolkiens 'Silmarillion' is next in line.
Talking books are great !!
