"Actually, those interviewed were completely clueless about anime in general, even Johnathan Clements - who writes the anime column for JD Megazine. There was some bloke who was quoted on just about everything shown who didn't even know the plots."

That guy apparently works for Toonami. He managed to get the plots to Watership Down and Princess Mononoke wrong("it's about a boy with a terminal disease who has to find Princess Monokoke to cure it." Eh?), which is rather embarrassing considering he works for channel devoted to cartoons.

I don't think Clements came off too badly, considering he only popped up a couple of times, and one of those was to correct the thick bloke from Toonami.

Gah. I was really hoping the promotion was misleading and this would turn out to be not shit, but I haven't heard a good review so far.

Still, if it's a hit, perhaps it'll persuade them to put "Dougal and the Blue Cat" out on DVD, or even some original episodes(long shot, I know).

The Friday Night Project was originally billed as Saturday Night Live style comedy sketch show, but apparently the results were so embarrasingly awful that they decided to bring in J. Carr and reshoot the whole thing. So if you think this version is dreadful, imagine what it must've been like before...

My favourite Bill Oddie moment is when Aspel turned up to do a "This Is Your Life" for him, and he told them to sod off! They did eventually convince him to change his mind, but still.

"...and the accidental shooting of Joe Mangles wife (Kerry?) in some marsh land..."

I liked the follow-up to this, when Harold meets his daughter's killer. The scene goes something like this:

(a man with a moustache enters the Coffee Shop)

Man with moustache: Mr Bishop?
Harold: Yes?
Man with moustache: Mr Bishop, I killed your daughter!
Harold: Noooooooooooo! (lunges at moustache-man and attempts to strangle him)

Then they cut to the next scene with Harold saying "I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me." Moustache-man was never seen or even mentioned again, so presumably there's a "missing scene" involving Harold feeding bits of him into a furnace.

"Riddick" was the kind of monumental piece of space silliness not seen since Arnuhld's hey-day. It also had more plot-holes than you could shake a stick at. For instance, Riddick is able to survive planet-frying 700 degree temperatures simply by chucking a bit of water on his head. Also, the Necromongers supposedly fear and despise Furians above all things, yet they gladly stand back and let one of them be their ruler? Guh? They'd just shoot him as soon as he sat on the throne, surely?

The transformation of Jack into a sexxxy hot chick was a bit hard to swallow as well, even though I like that Alexa Davidov(she was good in "Angel")

And some of that dialogue..."He is the holy half-dead who has seen the Underverse!" Oh dear, oh dear. Solaris it ain't.

I enjoyed Pitch Black, but it seems like access to a huge budget has gone to David Twohy's head. I gather the ratings for Riddick were pretty low, so he might not get to make the other two films in the proposed trilogy. That might be for the best.

"Of course, there are also films in which the actor has dies during the shoot, and footoage from that particular take has been used, such as in Brandon Lee in The Crow, Angela Bassett's stunt double in Stange Days, or Vic Morrow in The Twilight Zone."

I'm afraid that's another myth - the footage of Lee's shooting was seized as part of the  investigation into his death, and you don't see any of it on screen. I assume the same happened with the Vic Morrow incident.

There's no ghost boy in Three Men and a Baby, either. It's just a cardboard cutout of Ted Danson wearing a hat.

I was too young to've gotten Speed, but I think I remember Deathwish appearing in the 80's Eagle. Unless I imagined it.

This is possibly my favourite SHOCK! endings of a comic ever.

http://www.geocities.com/spleetle/hatemonger.txt">

I love the way Reed Richards immediately deflates the drama by announcing: "Actually, it's probably not the real Hitler after all, but one of his many doubles!" But why would one of Hitler's doubles still be dressed exactly like Hitler years after the war ended?

"Though they showed the space age on the credits they never seemed to get past the Greeks or Romans."

I believe that was a covered in a later series, Once Upon A Time...Space. Although by then they had dropped the educational elements, and it was more of a generic space-opera thing.

Someone on another message board didn't believe me when I said there were actually three series, Man, Life and Space. But it's true!

No Victor & Hugo? No Duckman? Pah. I cuss this list.

And what the flippin' heck is 2DTV doing on there? Rubb-ish.
