That went down like a Led Zepplin :D
Answer is Nigel Dobbyn along with his 2000ad work, also does Billy the Cat for the Beano.
The second is a bit more obscure, its Hunt Emerson, he draws Little Plum in the Beano, and he drew Ronald Regan in Diceman.

Im sure that there will be marketing money for the film, it would be great if 2000ad could corner some of this cash and promotet itself as it is with more convention appearences and web precence.  I wouldnt like a rebranding, but  photo covers like SBT said for a few weeks to cash in wouldnt go astray.

Books & Comics / Re: DFC returning - kinda

QuoteSuper! My kids weren't much into comics at the time of the DFC - and by the time I was aware of it it was too late anyway - but my daughter is very much into them now, and with the lack of any decent ones on sale in the newsies (apart from the relaunched Dandy which is not bad actually), I reckon I'll be subscribing to this. Have to keep an eye out for more info.

Same as that, I wonder will it be sub only?

As a bit of fun, if anyone has a piece of trivia about 2000ad however obscure, ask the question, and leave it till the next day to answer. Anyone that gets it right gets a great big 'fair play to ya'.

Name two artist that have worked for the Beano and 2000ad, in specials rather than the weeklies?

Books & Comics / Re: Horror comics, Commando format
27 February, 2011, 09:40:38 AM
Off the top of my head there was one published by Marvel uk called Chiller, it was slightly larger than commando, digest I think they called it. Featured Man Thing and Dracula. One of Dez Skinns efforts. There was other libraries from the IPC stable in the 60's like Buster and Valiant, they featured different stories in each issue, mayby there were some of those with a horror theme?

Great find, I think Dez Skinn had something to do with these.

Off Topic / Re: The Political Thread

It will be intersting to see how the seats fall, at the end of the day Id prefer a FG Labour or FG overall, I wouldnt like to see Independants prop up the government, the Healy-Rae effect we can do without.
Whatever your thought on the incoming part(ies) in the short term it can only be a good thing for the domestic economy. The Hotels, pubs, cinemas, dogs tracks etc are dying on their feet because people who are working, and have some disposal income are not spending because they are afraid of what coming next.
They may take solace from a government who appear to have a plan and appear to have an idea of what their doing and get out and spend some of thier money. Appearence is everything, it dosent matter if they dont have a clue of what they are at, just so long as they look competent!
As for the bigger bank picture, that will sort itself out at a european level, the bank debt will be fereralised at some level and the interet rate will be reduced, because it serves europe to do so, but FG will take full credit.

Anyway, four from Mayo, I could do with a few potholes fixed, I have a good choice now!
