I hear you, at work we have consultants constantly spec'ing oddball and  expensive material for government jobs, because they are in the pay of the manufacturers and distributors. When any problems or spares are needed, there is of course a two month wait and costs the earth.
Most of these fittings end up being replaced by off the shelf spurious material, that costs a quarter of the price, has the same compoments, and spares are easily available.
Anyway, works OK otherwise!

Does anyone on the board have or know where I can pick up issues of the DFC comic that came out a few years back. I know that they are putting out GNs of some of the material, but Id like to get hold of the issues.

Great news that Strip is for kids, my oldest two are currently devouring all my Beanos, so this will be coming over my door.

QuoteWhen The Vort's Crispy turned out to be Lobster Random
Nothing against Lob, just felt it kind of changed the whole tone of the strip
I thought everything about The Vort was awesome, i think it could have stood alone easily

Spot on.

General / Re: Worst Dredd Artists

McCrea is a good artist. Some of his latest 2000ad outings may not have been great, but Hitman is superb, the Demon, Jenny Sparks, and all his Crisis stuff is good.  He did a bit for deadline too, Carla something liked that too.

Dune by Frank Herbert, the first is great, the rest get decreasingly good.
Any Asimov, im a big fan. The first three Foundation are great, the rest are ok, they are fun for the tie in with the Robot novels, Caves of Steel is a decent one as well.
Cant leave Harry Harrison out, the Rat novels are great fun, Deathworld too.

I will pick this up as well, Colquhouns art on this is superb. Coopers run on Red is often seen as the definitive, and Colquhouns overlooked or forgotten, hopefully this will jog peoples memory.

PJ is the best, best of a good lot too. Dillon lived for a good while in Dublin, he is Engligh afaik. Dermot Power from the other side of the border is pretty good, as is Killian Plunket, though Ive only seen a bit of his work, Only found out he was Irish when I saw him on the news as the artist on Star Wars.
