Help! / Re: What was this scary comic strip in?

Sound like a Scream short, but not one that I have read. In know Supernaturals, the licensed title ran some short stories and the 'Doll' too which looks good, maybe in that title?

Prog / Re: Prog 2108 - Germ Warfare

Brink is just fantastic, best thing in the prog in years.
Humour is always welcome and Parrs is a revelation. Kingdom ticks along nicely and even Tracer was decent, but happy enough not to see it again.
Dredd, not getting they hype, probably a bit my problem rather than the creators as I can't see past the man in the room for decades. Still, an enjoyable tale, and Flint, 'Nuff said!

Creators mostly. Especially when it comes to anything outside Brit comics. When I did buy American comics I tended to follow Vertigo or Epic and the 2000 AD creators that followed. Never a big follower of superheroes, I did tip my toes into Batman and a few others.
In general I'd be of the opinion that a creators work should stay with the creator. However, if its something that has been handed on by one of the original creators, like Swamp Thing, it does show what can be done with a character in different hands.
On the other hand if an IP is optioned by another media, Games or Films, is it OK for other creators to work on it, and if so then why not on comics?  Tough one.

Casey will be forgotten about in a few weeks, so I wouldn't get too worried about him or anyone following in his footsteps.
Great time for Michael D, probably not without his faults, but he is someone that I'd be happy too see represent Ireland. The kids all had faux elections in their classrooms, all four classroom voted Michael D, the youngest was because he looked 'nice', the oldest because he was 'obvious'  :)

Prog / Re: Prog 2102 - Quick on the Jaw!

The prog is really running on 4.5 cylinders at the mo, the half missing is for Smiley and Skippy, never could get my head around the Judge in the cupboard. Still, Flint is the McMahon of the moment turning in Sky Chariot quality pages week in week out, what an artist. And even though I'm not a fan of Smiley, The Williams droid knows how to turn in an enjoyable script.

Fiends, Wow! Art, story, perfect. Very European.

Skippy, its fine, lovely art and competently written, just missing something.

Kingdom, continues on as enjoyable as ever.

Brink, if this was 1986, there would be a Titan album series, T-Shirts and signing in Forbidden Planet signings across the land, its that good.

Whatever John thinks on Stront will probably be the best way to leave it.
I for one would miss it sorely from the Prog, and it would be such a pity to leave Carlos' best (IMO) creation to posterity.
Stront for me is the best series in the prog, great character, great design, great world building. If JW is involved, I'd be more than happy to see it back.  The argument to leave Carlos' work on Stront as a monument to his work, is a strong one.
On the other hand in twenty years time, a lot of us will be hitting the seventy mark, if there is no new material who (new) will remember his amazing design and artwork on Stront, other than us buying the 'new' essential collections. Its a tough one.

I'm having a big clear out of comics/annuals to make room (and help pay for printing) for more Hibernia collections that are incoming! In the process I found a few (literally) House of Daemon, they are in the shop now if  anyone is interested, here http://www.comicsy.co.uk/hibernia/

TB, that's not too far removed from my Dad, my Mam is more even handed. That said, even though he does't like some of the EU regulations, he sees the benefit and the market (farming background) of the EU. You would be hard pushed to find anyone agreeing with an Ireland Exit out west (my experience) except for John Waters and Co!

Mike White, Roy of the Rover artist, worked on probably every boys IPC titles, including Action and Battle and he did quiet a bit for 2000AD.
Mostly on the Mean Arena, but he really brought some of Moore's best Future Shocks and Time Twisters to life.

I love it! A little 80's but great 80's. Perez was noted for the crowds of supes, I'd love to see him do a Dredd world cover, something like this.
