Prog / Re: Prog 1943: Cold Hard Kashan!

Dredd, Helium, tipping along nicely. Two of the 2000AD's top artist on these, they really are hitting the ball.

A memorable Future Shock, nicely done, with fantastic art by John Higgins, funnily I was rereading Titans collection of Razorjack when this prog was read, I felt as if the final panel was a reveal of sorts, has this character appeared before, its nigglingly familiar?

Jaegir has to be singled out. Reading 2000AD as a kid, Dredd, Stront and Rogue were the staple, Rogue shaded it as my favourite up till the re-gene storyline.
It never grabbed me after that, the countless reboots, revisits and apocryphal revisions was just messy,  the stand alone Cinnabar and War Machine were the strange exceptions to be better than the original.

Jaegir has managed to make the old Nu-Earth conflict interesting and entertaining, and I think carry the spirit of the old Rogue Trooper by putting it in the original timeline and avoiding all the continuity nonsense. Its a well rounded package, the story, art, colouring and lettering seem to give  flawless storytelling. For me this is 2000AD at its best.

So sorry to hear that Hippy, our cat and one of our dogs died in spring. They really become part of the fabric of a home.  :(

Books & Comics / Re: The House of Daemon out now!

Thanks Colin, delighted you like it. There are some real gems hidden away in these old comics. I'd love to do more Doomlord, we will see what the future brings.
Design and production is firmly at Richard's feet, the covers especially I think he has a real eye for.
I did get some copies into the Forbidden Planet International shops, hopefully that will go well.

Cheers!

Nope. None of mine have accounts on any social media. They do make videos, opening pack of Pokemon, Stampy style videos etc, little bit of Lego anime  but its for their amusement, and I have been lucky not to get the 'well my friends are putting them up'
My oldest is going to secondary school in September, and I am expecting the request to join Facebook. She was on Vibre, but that was scrapped, a few odd messages.
I will try and keep them away from the accounts side of the net that can leave feedback for as long as I can. Which for the oldest probably wont be too long :o

I have the following in a folder, and I'm unlikely to ever display them, it a shame to have them sitting there. If anyone is interested PM me.
The five page future shock Im not to bothered at selling, as its Bradbury. I would consider a swop for some of his other art though from Eagle, Scream or Battle etc.

Two Ron Smith Dail Star, one from 95 the other no date, but the copyright is Egmont Fleetway, so probably 96.

A full Metro Dredd by Inaki Miranda, (Inked by Eva De La Cruz?)  Published in  Metro newspaper, 2004.

I bought this Gibson piece as an original piece years ago, but I am 99% its a bromide, Wagner, Grant and Gibson have signed, and it was used in the prog(619), pictured is the back as well.

Bradbury five Future shock, from prog 221, as said not to fussed on selling, but would consider swop for his work from other British comics.
