okay help fuel my fantasies here,

i hate where i live & what i do, but can't do anything much about anything for a year or so, so i'm spending the time dreaming of the future i've always wanted;

i want to work abroad,
i want to use my business skills / pyschology qualifications / art & craft & design qualifications / ive run a charity / i'm physically strong & resourseful / i'm a problem solving logistical guru,
i want to do some sort of aid work, useful stuff.
i am not some 18 yr old gap kid with a back pack.
i still have family commitments.
i want to do asia in partic, ex soviet or such .

where do i start, what more qualifications would be useful to get while i'm stuck here?  
it used to be VSO, but are there other organisations worth checking out ?

well i my heads too mangled to remember the name of a song that was requested, words like

come into my head , but i think it must have been Alien sex fiend, certainly something from that era, the track is a classic & probably has something about teenage or anarchy or something in the title.

not that i'll get to play it at the funeral, but more the wake with friends, or by myself up a mountain howling to the moon.

Okay what should i dress up in to wander around the village getting randomly drunk & scrounging sweeties & possibly rattling a tin...

i have many many silly clothes & sexy boots, from glam to smart to hippy to ethnic to stupid.

i have an ape mask, a KGB hat & navy suit, a feather boa, a red furry coat, spag west hat n poncho, ... dunno

suggestions must contain irony & stupidity, ie, dressing up as a french maid or nursey, is simply shit. Previous years indicate a preference for facial hair & un-glamour. Bare in mind i also plan on spending only 3 seconds getting this together & that i need to be able to walk into a pub full of normally dressed people by myself, dressed like a twat.

the prize is ...a photograph if its in any way entertaining.

fire brigade campaign, we're all working our asses off at the moment, ive been out last two nights doing fire prevention educational talks. all part of modernisation, we're motivated, we're getting a new proper station built & upgraded to proper paid retained status & we're going for the record !

i have been Horrrrrified this evening to discover mini-Bous lack of knowledge & understanding on Space issues.  Okay maybe its my shortfalling as a parent,  maybe the third child gets dragged up in the wake of the others, maybe its her dyslexia has just had her switched off in class;

there we were, walking the dogs in the pitch frosty black with the stags roaring, "oooo look at the milky way tonight " i say, "eh?" says she,  She knew about the planets & earth, but had NO idea that the sun was a star, that the stars are all stars, or nebula, or comets or whatever, what a galaxy was or anything further away that pluto. Shes 11 for gruds sake !  i'd travelled alpha centuri by age 5 , but then ive always been a sci-fi geek.

many large books & diagrams later, shes grasped a little, & got really upset that the teachers don't explain things in a way she understands. Looks like its back to basics, i dread to think what other stuff she doesnt know.   i hasten to add that she is in no way thick & could probably run a whole school efficiently right now.

are schools stupider these days ?  did you lot all love astronomy as tots ?

i have had a nightmare week, and i don't mean burn the sufflee nightmare, real heavy shit, topped by heavy shit today, total change of plans...

i'm supposed to catch a plane tomorrow morning, re arranged new babysitters in last half hour, yet to arrange animal sitters & how to secure the house ...i have no clean clothes, and now the whole west coast ( beyond ?) HAS A POWER CUT. lucky laptop batterys huh.

so i'm hoping Mr Trout puts his mobile on & that i have the right number so we can coordinate airport meetngs, or not..hope someone knows where i'm supposed to be going, cos i can see i might not have time or means to refresh my homework & might end up wandering lost ( with no toothbrush ) in gatwich this weekend...

fugging rell, i love my life sometimes, right gotta save batteries , & sort heaps of shit out & find my baseball bat.

ive taken every afternoon this week off work (work zone 2) to get my accounts done, i have in fact done 30 minutes total on said accounts & slept every single afternoon for an hour or two. now i'm panicing slightly... but feel sleepy & groggy again...

I aint been since juve-3 was in utero, 93, & watching the footage she's all fired up & wants to go  asap, which is wierd cos the teens find the prospect of anything beyond the local bus stop threatening, well at least one of thems inherited their mothers love of adventures, sweaty crowds & immunity from mud.

My Pilton adventures past, are somewhat rosey tinted tho, as i worked there for a ticket & free food, so had back stage & crew field passes & hot showers. 93, i stayed there for over a month setting up , then tidying up, quite a different experience to the 4 days mayhem of the actual fest, which i watched from the sanctuary of behind the crew field cordons..

i am looking at changing from being a free business owner woman crafts producer studio possessing smug, to a shop girl. The incentive being, an income. ( of sorts ). Ive wrestled with the many issues about child care, my fire service obligations blah blah, But what is really rankling me, is the dress code...seems stupid...but is it?

i will have to wear a skirt, because i am a girl, tho i would be allowed the overalls if i'm doing the dirty manly jobs. Now this same boss, is a mate of mine, who has had no problem with me climbing around his house roof weilding power tools this month, but in the shop, i would have to be demeaned & accept my role as girl. This discusts me but i can do it.

I would have to take my ear & nose hoops out. wtf?! its okay for the old lady to wear gold earstuds or pink lippy, but my hoops being a couple of inches further north is somehow unacceptable? this is psuedo religious bigoted shallow appearance obbsessed bollox.

If i was in an islamic country i would cover my head. but can i work in a shop with these rules about womens roles?
