I'm all for re-caps too, i think its an old age related information retention problem.

whats the actual difference or difinition of a cult versus a church..??

appart from pure subjectivity if you happen to believe in one & not the other... or rather believe in the doctrin of one, i have no problem believing in the existance of cults & churches, and theyre all welcome to belive in spagetti monsters, the force, the ancient atlantean beings, jewish carpenters or whatever, as long as they keep it out of schools, politics & my face.

arent the scientologists a bit of a cliched target ?

( i've a feeling this thread could go real bad now )

erm... i've been really enjoying the prog recently... EEEK that makes me sound like a sychophant so i better shut up...the lynch mob cometh...

EEEk or should i speak up ? or not..

Whilst i love the notion of freedom of speech, i sadly realised today that the only place i can truely speak freely is with my other half & mini-bou... ITs just not sensible, practical, appropriate or proffessional to speak our minds all the time... either that or my mind is full of wrong.

I would never have started drawing strips, which led to illo type things which has led to painting again which has led to persuing a full time art 'career' instead of putting up with a desk job running a development plan for a feasability study of a public money co-ordinater facilatators  managers job....or pot washing.

It has taught me that the world does begin & end with the village pub & conversations about shinty & sheep & wife beating and it is safe to leave the glen and humans who read comics are somewhat more interesting that those who all share the same surname beginning with 'Mac'.

more importantly what RAC says.

THis board is great !

i have a wierd thing with numbers, i can do them if i concentrate & sit in a darkened room by myself for a while.. otherwise when i read a string on numbers out over the phone say...  my eyes see one 7 & my mouth says 9 .. trying to do quick sums results in a sort of brain freeze white noise...

but then i can spell in sounds either, only by looking at the letters ( sometimes )

Its clearly a new form of learning difficulty called " grumpy old ladyism " or something.

i was very cruelly laughing at ray mears on his walkabout thing this week, he's revealing a whole new side to him, retention ! don't get me wrong cos he's one of my heros, but it seems his survivalism is based on obbsessive meticulous planning & prep & attention to detail, with neatly numbered maps... thats me screwed if i get lost in the outback, slap-dash ist mine name.

ahh some great points there people...

HoU your psychologists stance reminds me of a collegue, struggling to do an arts project with teenagers, " pff i never watch tv, i never shop at tescos , i never eat anything that isnt organically biodynamically handwoven by yaks "   " i blame TV, i blame parents, i blame lack of disciplin "... how the F*ck can anyone judge these things from an outside perspective ??!  How can you engage with young people/ any people if you live in some self imposed plastic bubble ?

aaand thats my excuse for watching shit soaps, i'm tapping into the zeitgeist maaan...down wit da kids !

firstly DXB, it sounds to me like you have a case of work place bullying and you should tell people to p*ss the f*ck off & report them. The only things we should be ashamed of are illegal & immoral, for example, workplace or any place bullying.

I'm embarrased & ashamed about:
1) public speaking
2) my loss of confidence in town driving since bad HGV training experience & i now can't be bothered driving the fire engine.
3) That my brain is not as clever as it used to be & i've dumbed down from living in the village of the social retard too long.
4) my spelling

Apparently i should be ashamed at my lack of encyclopeadic knowledge of books i've never had a chance to read & films i've never come across, but i'm working to fill the gaps.

some people might think i should be embarassed at my honesty in blogs and general conversation, but my sharing is a deliberate calculated thing aimed at bringing down walls & small talk bullshit pretention, so i don't care what people think.

now guilt... if this was a guilt thread i'd be really busy... oh woe my existential failure !
