Thanks for keeping the accomodation & travel advice coming in. This is the pain in the neck about being so far North, its expensive to get to unless booked early.

anyway keep your eyes on the hi ex web site for all the latest announcements, its this time of year where people turn up & drop out like mad... scary ! Auction stuff thats been promised is awesome !  putting final touches on panesl & workshop schedules, managed to get some wall space at last minute so there will be some lovely comic art to look at again.

rushing Vicky ( Bou/  whatever ) x

hmm. I dunno much about the science, but dealing with pain is often a lot to do with mind set. I'm not afraid of the initial pain of nasty injuries because the bodies natural mechanisms do an amazing job at blotting it out... its afterwards when shock, infection, trauma & acheing throbbing shudderful agony kicks in its gets yuk.

If theres fear with pain its harder to deal with. I squirm like a ba**ard at the dentists because I don't feel in control with metal stuff in my mouth, & whinge like a pathetic whinging thing if i get a splinter or break a nail but I did 3 childbirths drug/gas free because I knew it was normal, natural & would result in a wonderful baby, I also knew that If I paniced or whimped out that the pain would be unbearable, so I switch a switch in my head, same for tattoos, same when that fecking dumbell was bashing my wrist during fitness tests last week. Just breathe..... ye big weak poofs.

.... hey guys !  sorry about the delay, just sooo busy darlings...  rushing ...

Okay Thankyou VERY much once again, I feel rather embarrassed & genuinely surprised, I enjoy doing these things, its a chance to try things out & play rather than slog on with the rather grown up normal work I do. Congrats to the Other winners & to everyone who took part.

Congrats to Bolt & Declan & Mike for their wonderful work on the HI-EX advert ! wonderful guys !

meanwhile, next comp ? well its gotta be Christmassy ! In the future how do they perceive Christmas ? has its pagan/folk/ Christian roots become mixed up with other culture/faith/festivals ?   What images would represent it? which images would stay the same? what type of Christmas cards would 2000ad Characters send ?  there you go, A christmas card design that a 2000ad Character would send.... how about that Jim ??

I just found a fantastic set of new names for various conditions recently, which is great that professionals are getting a better understanding of conditions which cause people difficulties. But as for the old chestnut about whos 'mad' or 'sane' basically everyone sits on some continuum or another, the difficulties arise when that person is either a danger to themselves or others, or unable to function in 'society' & therefore needs support/ help/ therapy in order to survive/function. Many 'problems' come to light during schooling because education requires a fairly specific set of skills for pupils to function, some of those 'problems' are in fact assets in another context. Without autistic spectrum people science & knowledge would be light years behind where it is.

I suffer from OCTH, TAS , BGL and ABCD*, does this mean I can start throwing rocks at people ?

* I may have made some of these up... but the compulsion to throw rocks in itself indicates I'm madder than all of you.

well Isn't it amazing how well people seem to hide various disorders, when you meet them you really wouldn't notice it at all. Of course some CBT methods can really help to reign in the symptoms, I guess the sufferers I know generally arent so lucky.

But then if someone is rude and intends to be rude, and is rude, then they could always learn from peoples reactions and learn to integrate/adapt to scenarios a lot more from negative reactions.

QuoteAnd so what? I've got tourettes but I don't use that as an excuse.

and... how will tourettes affect your behavior on an internet forum exactly ?   prehaps if you went " I didnt iugkl;jgl    think much of hjhjmbmmhkghkg  recently as the plot was ghgftjenhsfr3t5uibn[ y'[gnjk "  that one might wash....
