well i'd asked my un-imginative parents for some comic art clip frames, Hurrah ! ! so more art is shiney & safe on the walls, i was hammering nails in at 1am.

money for new day-shoes.

and a set of gouache paints , happy happy joy !!

unexpected pressies;

mini-bou who earns ?3 per hour, aged 12, bought me a big oil painting set ! ! a benedict allen book, smellies, far out.
long way round dvd off taki-bou

also ;

a travel book.
fancy wool & knitting needles
candles
chocs.

more importantly the kids are totally gadgeted , CD'd & cosy thingsed up !

with regard to hitchhikers, he did make a comment with the dressing gown "very arthur dent"

i think these casual references to both contemporary & vintage, geek & mainstream concepts/culture/characters/stuff is part of the appeal of this last series.

mind you i felt the satsuma throw was a nod to Mr davidsons who cricketing abilities also.

It was great !!

i was jumping up & down in my seat yelling " a cup of tea !! !  a cup of tea, fer fucksake give the tardis some tea "
of course the kids thought i was being bloody ridiculous, ha !

annoying, last scene how did jackie happen to wander along to the street where they all teleported down ?

swordfighting was a bit cack, and how come that button where he threw the satsuma just happened to drop the bit of the ship where ugly bloke was ?

but still i loved it , cos i was very upset at loosing eccleston, but ...oh alright, i suppose tennant cuts it.  hurrah !

and then later on in eastenders they had the alien dust falling down too !  i love continuity.

damn, my claims to ultimate martyrdom have been twarted by having a whole 4 days off...

and then i remembered !  ha !  i'm still on fire call the whole time generally 155+ hours a week. hurrah , i win !

however we didnt get our traditional christmas day fire this year, which is good cos the soot plays havok with my sequins & shiny sparkly clothes.

i'm knackered.
worked til 4.30,
yeeha got tomorrow 'off'
and the next 2.. funting miracle

half way thru shift tho i discovered that my gear ox is playing up.. the mechanics have all fecked off for chrimbo, the boumobile is probably a write off...

remember in village of the damned, public transport is as alien a concept as foreign food and words of more that two syllables.

so instead of worrying about the rent, & how to afford the operation my dog needs, ...  anyone wanna buy a suzuki 500  ?

meanwhile in order to spread xmas cheer & a sack of pressies to my son, exiled the other side of the country tomorrow, i managed to get a lift one way, but might well have to hitch back... sorry girls, santa had to walk & his knee went somewhere north of achnasheen.

appart from that i'm just happy happy happy to not be working for 3 days.

Help! / Re: Where oh Where?
20 December, 2005, 06:01:59 PM
the 2006 is just a fat version of the weekly , so his newsagent should already have saved it, you could try sneakily contacting his newsie to find out maybe?

for extra thrill treats have you looked at the shop on this web site? or theres some great 2000ad graphic novels on the go at the mo, or the winter special that came out last month or so ?  the official subscriptions lady is always very helpful too, the phone number is ( i think ) front page of the weekly.

is the coolest jungle the one at the bottom of the himalyias ?

coolest job ? = Thargs, and yet horribly stressful for anyone lacking his beteguisian coolness.

second coolest job ? = jonothan rosses, getting paid shit loads for revelling in stuff you like, and comics. bastard.
i'd prefer to be the prop designer for LOTR tho.
