General / Re: Potential spolier but about Me...

Wagner's said in the past that as far as continuity goes, he basically ignores what anyone else has written on Dredd. Maybe setting it in the past is Ennis' way of saying he knows his place? ;)

one of the non-monkey related incidental pleasures of Darkie's Mob for me is spotting where they've censored the dialogue ;)
so what are these words which are now too awful for our delicate eyes?

Thanks to Douglas Adams I know that no matter how bad things may be, as long as I've got a towel they can't be that bad.

I used to have both radio series on tape, but my cassette player chewed them up :( I think they're available on CD these days, aren't they?

In any event, you MUST get hold of them and hear them, IMO they're much better than the books. And the second series has loads of plots and ideas that don't feature in the books at all. I still can't look at a lemon-soaked paper napkin without chuckling...

music and beer, mostly. plus films and Birmingham City FC.

I used to play guitar in a band when I lived in Brum, but these days I content myself with hacking away on my cello in an orchestra. In fact, if you're in London on March 15 and at a loose end, you could do a lot worse than come to our next gig.

This, I'm afraid, is the attitude we have to put up with in this country. On the continent, comics are seen as a legitimate art from.

My girlfriend tolerates my babbling about comics in a slightly patronising way, much as she tolerates my babbling about football. She did go and see Spiderman and Daredevil with me though, so maybe there's hope. I'm planning to hit her with Halo Jones (not literally, I hasten to add), as I figure if there's one strip which could convert a girl, that'd be it. Maybe you should try the same. Alternatively, maybe something very adult and non-sci-fi such as History of Violence or Road to Perdition would open her eyes. I must say, I'm disappointed to hear such a blinkered view coming from an artist though.

Prog / Re: prog 1330
04 March, 2003, 07:22:38 AM
I enjoyed this week's prog more than last week's. Maybe I'm just in a better mood.

Dredd/aliens continues in the same fine, if not altogether unpredictable, form.

Bec & Kawl's OK. I thought this story could have done with being a bit longer, it seemed somewhat rushed to me. Along way to go before it hits the dizzy hights of DR & Quinch, but it's by no means the worst comedy strip we've seen in 2000ad.

VCs looks like it's going into a mor action phase after a few quiet episodes. I'm still not sure about the art though, it's not tht I don't like it, I'm just not convinced that it really suits the story. But maybe it'll grow on me.

Telguth just isn't my kind of thing really, but havivng said that, I liked this one better than others I've read.

Atavar: still to early to tell, IMO. But I may yet warm to it.

All in all, not a bad litle prog really. And the cover rocks!

Lego? you lucky man.
Do they still do those bricks with the light in them?

I want "24" themed lego!

BTW, on the DVD of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, there's a rather good lego based version of the Camelot song.
