Every time Kieron Dyer got the ball, my mate Alex couldn't resist shouting out "GWAAAN! ROAST 'EM!"

I shouldn't laugh, I know, but I did.

I feel very proud that a Swede has managed to build my national team up to the point where it can grind out a goalless draw.

Nah, it's Tharg pursuing a vendetta against dxb. You shouldn't have thrown him out, David.

IIRC, one of the central points of existentialism is that it considers morality to be a construct of the individual, rather than an external reality, i.e. the individual is entirely responsible for his own beliefs and actions. As all religion is founded on the belief in a god (or gods) which imposes an absolute moral code, you can't believe in god and be an existentialist. I think.

And Once Upon A Time In The West, of course. Which was on telly only last night.

That'll be the 4x2 with which I batter you repeatedly around the head until you learn to spell my name correctly, I presume? :)

Wils, your mental faculties are palpably disintegrating, your humour rarely if ever rises above the base and profane, and, as has previously been established, you smell of wee.

In short, you are a man after my own heart. Happy birthday!

OBE? OM at the least!

Sir Alan Moore has a nice ring to it, too...

I think we need a poll on this. Can someone do the honours? (no pun intended)

Future Shocks on telly could be ace, but it would *have* to be introduced by a badly animated cartoon Tharg.

"Nice ad on the back"

I went to see Belleville Rendevous at the weekend, and would recommend it to anyone who likes twisted surreal French humour ? la Delicatessan.

I think the trouble with The Satanist is that it felt like two different stories superimposed. I'm sure there's plenty of scope in a suspensful detective story with supernatural overtones, and a lot of fun to be had with high camp hammer-esque shennanigans, but put the two together and it jars. The poignancy of the last page didn't quite make up for this, IMO. Although it does put Dredd in an interesting position, and I look forward to seeing how this develops.

Dick Turpin was a vampire. Er, so what? Nicely executed, though (no pun intended)

Sin/Dex: yeah, well, s'ok, I suppose.

Leviathan and Stronty continue to be the highlights of the prog for me.

Oh, and yes, the cover was rubbish, wasn't it?

Overall, thrill power levels down from previous weeks, but still at an acceptable level, and I'm looking forward to From Grace next week.
