Sounds like The Island of Dr Moreau to me. Filmed numerous times, most recently with Marlon Brando, but IIRC there's a version done in the 30's which is brilliant.

A special thank you is due to fred's mum, whose chocolate cake recipe is worthy of King Troutman himself, it's that evil. I am now the most popular person in my office, they will all obey my every whim for mere crumbs from that cake, Bwah-ha-ha-ha!

Thank you for your kind words as I continue my descent into gibbering senility, ever more firm in my conviction that anything new or unfamiliar is to be feared and vehemently opposed.

For my presents, Bou gave me a bib, to soak up the drool as it drips from my slack jaw, and a chamber pot, in an attempt to minimise the embarrasment when I am "caught short".

Let us never speak of this thing again.

I've been considering the very same thing, and top of my list are Talons of Weing Chang and Dalek Invasion of Earth (the proper Hartnell telly one of course, rather than the film with Bernard Cribbins in it. Bernard Cribbins, for god's sake!)

"6 Have we ever seen Time Lord children?"

Susan was the Doctor's grand-daughter, wasn't she?

As for his age, IIRC correctly he was alluded to during the Tom Baker years as being in his 700's, though by the Colin Baker period there were suggestions floating about that he was 900-1000 years old. I think this is a subject you shouldn't think too hard about if you care about continuity issues :)
