Dude, chill out. You want a fight, look somewhere else, I'm not interested.

You used the phrase "birmingham (scummy) city - shite from beginning to end, not worth the space or effort to read, worthless."

I replied, tongue in cheek, pointing out our results against you last season. You're right, things might be different next year. I'm well aware how shit Blues have been for a long time, I've put up with enough piss-taking from Villa supporting mates over the years, this year the tables were turned, I'd expected us to go down or just avoid it, turns out we did better than that. next year we'll struggle again, that's inevitable. Hopefully we'll consolidate our position and start building towards greater ambitions than avoiding relegation. Who knows?

What I do know is that I'm not going to get dragged into a slanging match over it, and especially not here. I'm hardly the most consistently on-topic poster here, but this kind of thing is going too far off topic IMO, as well as being potentially poisonous. It's a friendly place here, let's keep it that way, eh?

peace

So, who do we think this Mercator fella is, eh?

Ah, this would be the same V***a that lost twice to Blues and finished below us in the table, would it? ;)

I have a quibble about Slaine. Apart from the fact that "Privy parts", "Dung Bags" and Motherfu" surely add up to 4 1/2 words, if Slaine were to use 3 words to foreigners in league with sea demons, they should be "KISS MY AXE!"

Apart from that, it's storming along nicely.

Dredd continues to intigue. Who's this Mercator bloke, then? I presume it must be someone we've mt before, as he knows Dredd well enough to set his nice up as bait.

Leviathan's impressive again. I like D'Israeli's line work on this, the pages seem to have an eerie glow about them.

Bec & Kawl's OK, it's good I think to have somehing fairly lightweight between two such creepy claustrophobic stories. And I did chuckle at the Wicker Slug.

Stront: Hurr-hurr. They said "Gnob".

"In the movie, Dorian Gray (The Picture of Dorian Gray) and Tom Sawyer (Huckleberry Finn) are added to the roster."

And they couldn't use Hawley Griffin because Universal hold the screen rights to the character. so it's not The Invisible Man, just an invisible man.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: this film is going o be pish.

Well, it was done in the DC Dredd, but we don't talk about that :)

Didn't I read somewhere that Wagner was planning to do some kind of Mega-City origins tale along these lines? Or did I just imagine it?

It could be any number of books, Trouty. The depths of my ignorance and the poverty of my intellect are without limits, as you well know :)

20 years? blimey. I thought I was bad having Once Upon A Time In The West on video for about 5 years before I got round to watching it.

The Hitch Hiker books are OK, but you should get yourself the original radio series, both of them are available on CD and are much, much better IMO.

02 August, 2003, 09:58:41 PM
IIRC Bisley once said that the reason his early painted stuff was all brown was because he hadn't learned how to mix his paints properly. Which makes it all the funnier that a slew of muddy imitations appeared in his wake.
