How about a history of facial hair in Mega City One, from Judge Lopez to Judge Manners?

The way Death kills his victims in the original story, mysteriously reaching inside their chests and squeezing their hearts, is a tremendously subtle and creepy idea, and still sends shivers down my spine. I think it's a real shame this degenerated later so that he just seemed to shove his hand through bodies any old how. It may be more entertaining for the artist in terms of drawing guts flying everywhere, but IMO it's not nearly as effective for the reader in terms of scaring the bejesus out of you.

Pixies reunion? I've heard those rumours too, but I'll believe it when I see it, to be honest.

This week I am mostly reading Philip Pullman's excellent His Dark Materials trilogy.

Sounds: John Cale, Shellac, Bruckner, Captain Beefheart, Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, Sibelius, White Stripes, The Fall... and as soon as I get off my lazy arse and buy it I'm sure I'll be enjoying the new Coral album.

watching: well, I caught the second half of Fargo last night, but apart from that I can't remember the last time I watched telly. Did go and see Hulk the other day though.

Die, you check-trousered fool, die!

A good meg. I'm intrigued to see how Darkie's Mob ends. (Halo Jones??)

Nice to see the page counts increasing, it definitly improves things. I'm sure Devlin will read well in one go, but at 6 pages a month, it feels like he's been doing little else than hitting zombies for a very long time.

Prog / Re: Prog 1351

What's particularly impressive is the way the prog reads as a whole. not only are all the strips really good, but the balance of mood and pacing between them is superb, not an easy trick to pull off in an anthology.

Congratulations Matt, it's a brave and noble thing to formally declare your feelings in public like that.
And I'm sure getting married will be nice, too.

You don't argue with those heels, trust me.

Welcome, Mr Clam, about time we had some decent shellfish representation here.
