I'm definitely interested in doing something, time allowing. Do you have any deadlines in mind?

I've got few piss-poor ideas I could draw in a shoddy manner for you :)

I'm a soulless drone slaving for a giant faceless corporation that is CONTROLLING YOUR THOUGHTS. If you believe the Daily Mail, that is.

"it wasn't really very much like an episode of ST:TNG, it was all full of action and excitement and adventure and fights."

LOL yup, that's spot on :)

Hey, don't knock it, it gets you out in the open air and there's no heavy lifting.

It wouldn't be a proper pirate ship without a skull & crossbones, would it?

"Maybe we should get superman to throw you into the sun just to be on the safe side."

Or maybe we could just flog him to the first religious maniac or third world dictator who comes up with a reasonable amount of cash?

Well, you're right about Cabs really, Paul, it's established the premise of the tale and is now in the business of working through the permutations. And it's doing it very nicely indeed. ABC's is huge fun too. I'm assuming that Pat wrote this with Henry in mind, as far as I can see he gets his way about who draws his stuff these days, and on this assumption I'd say Flint seems to spark Mills' imagination in the same way Kev O'Neill does, Ok so the main story seems to be taking ages to get going, but there's so much incidental detail and so many typically Pat looney tunes ideas in there, what's not to like? And he still gets his rant about his latest bugbear in (doctors at the moment, it seems). it's quintessential Mills :)

Dredd's wonderful, and everyone who doubts the quality of this tale can go fry. The denouement was utterly not what I predicted, and of course  perfectly in keeping with Dredd's character, which I guess is why Wagner is one of the finest comic writers alive and I'm a pathetic nobody :)

Future Shock was OK, nothing to write home about, but it's good to see Steve Parkhouse back in the prog.

I even liked Bec & Kawl. Best story yet for them, nice deflatory last panel :)

Most disappointing thing for me was the cover, Mark Harrison's capable of better than that. Oh yes, and the lack of a Droid Life.

sure you'll be fine, my feathered doppelganger. If they don't pass you this time we'll all come up to Durham and beat them up.

Probably worth a phone call in the morning, dc. Be great to see you there.

Bou, when I phoned the Craigdarroch Arms about a week or so ago they still had a room free on Friday (not Saturday though), so might be worth giving them a bell if you fancy partaking of such fripperies as beds ;)

I'd be up for sharing a cottage next year. Given the past record of boarders organising things, though, we'll probably have to start planning it on Saturday.... ;)

Well, there can't have been more than 10 people staying there that weekend, but they clearly couldn't cope with that many, which was particularly evident at breakfast on the Sunday, which far as I could tell was done by the owner and some teenager he'd dragged in from the village. Oh yes, and when we all got bak from the pub the night before it was all locked up (despite his having earlier assured us that it wouldn't be a problem), and it took about an hour to raise him to let us in, thanks to the, er, noisiness of Noisybast. Why he couldn't just have given us a front door key, I don't know.
Despite the fact that it was advertised as being run by a couple, we never once caught sight of the wife. I like to imagine she spent the whole time in a four-poster bed eating cake.

There was just a really heavy air of desperation hanging over the place, to be honest.
