Yup. Dom is to Cabs what Carlos is to Stront. You could do it with someone else, but why would you want to?

That film of the Saint with Val Kilmer was absolute pish, it has no redeeming features whatsoever and treats the audience with pure contempt. Unspeakably dreadful.

Val Kilmer's turn as Batman was pretty awful too. But not as bad as George Clooney's.

Dud, I think that the fact that this week's "card" schtick was preceeded by Dredd saying "Do you feel lucky?" last week is a fair indication that it's meant to be taken humourously.

philt, you make some very good points which are worth debating at length, but as I've had a few and it's late, I shan't attempt to do so now. But yes, I do think the curent Stront stories are on a  par with the older ones, Savage is great because it updates and subverts the old Invasion stories without pissing on them, ABC Warriors is admittedly plotless, but has more than enough passing detail to compensate... and of course you're right, 2K can't rely on strip-mining old stories for its future, which is why we've had the likes of Caballistics, Lobster Random, Snow/Tiger etc in the past year or two. And I think Synnamon has the potential to become a thoroughly decent ongoing series. So we're both in a minority one way or another :)

I really believe 2K right now is the strongest it's been since I started reading it in the early 80's, and I never hesitate to rant at ex-squaxx about this when I see them.

I think that last panel is a huge team-up of all the beasties B&K have previously faced, a bit like one of those Yogi Bear and the Hanna-Barbera All Star Specials.

blimey, the postman turned up before I left for work for once.

Nice Cliff Robinson cover, love the expression on Wulf's face.

Dredd romps along, funny stuff, what's the betting the rookies will save hthe day and then he'll fail them for disobeying orders?

Bec & Kawl was more enjoyable than I thought it would be, I think Si's getting into his stride with them, this is the best B&K tale yet.

ABC Warriors continues to be so much fun I hardly notice the absence of plot.

Stront finishes in fine form, great pay-off line. It seems churlish to say so given that we usually have to wait a year for the next one, but 2 weeks before the next one? aiieee!

No Droid Life, but we do get the first part of the Spurrier/Roberts strip that's up on the Beeb's new comics site. Si, have you worked at the Beeb? It's quite uncanny ;)

Heh, well I wouldn't put it quite like that (I'd love to see a well done Button Man film) but maybe if HOV turns out good someone might realise that Wagner should be scripting the Dredd fim.
