I got a Castle Grayskull one Xmas, played with the horrible plastic piece of crap for about 5 minutes, then went back to Lego, which was easily the best toy I ever got. If I ever have kids, they're getting Lego, and BLOODY WELL LIKING IT.

What Diggle said. 2 is great, starts strong, flounders a wee bit, improves; 3 is just bloody awful from the get-go.

"But is Art Spiegelman better than Primo Levi?"

I don't really think you can make a comparison. Levi had first-hand experience of the camps, which he tried to rationalise in THE TRUCE, THE DROWNED AND THE SAVED, etc. It's primary (i.e. witnessed) history.

Spiegelman's MAUS is partly an attempt to come to terms with his father's experiences in the camps, and partly an account of said experiences. It's secondary history, unlike his more recent IN THE SHADOW OF TWO TOWERS.

PASSIONOIA by Black Box Recorder. It's aces.

Bunch of early KYUSS stuff, which is more of a mixed bag.

Some other stuff from the thread:-

? Steev, TOM WAITS is playing a gig over here next year!

? My mate Matt (the jammy git) has just won a competition in JACK magazine; 1st-class flight to Tennessee + tour of Jack Daniels distillery + free FLAMING LIPS gig + getting smashed with the band afterwards! Sweet, wot!
