ISTR that Si Fraser's currently working on a creator-owned thing and some European stuff, so maybe he was too busy...

You'd probably dig on Alan Moore's SWAMP THING run, which is intermittently deeply odd, and has very little of the superhero to it. Great panel designs and art by Bissette, Veitch, Totleben et al, too.

If you want something a bit different, I highly recommend the biker-kid-becomes-a-teacher manga GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka), but it might be a bit disney for your taste. Alternatively, why not familiarise yourself with one or more of the brilliant LOVE AND ROCKETS series by the Hernandez brothers - social fiction as comic book.

Mmm. Weird art + non-linear storytelling? That'll be Charles Burns' BLACK HOLE for you, then, or Junji Ito's head-frying horror manga TOMIE and UZUMAKI.

There are also a few 2000 AD books out, y'know...!

Don't be fooled by the BOK!s that I got...

My username is either a pun on J-Lo or BULLSEYE host Jim Bowen. Delete as inappropriate, really.

See the trouble I get in when I forget smilies? :(

Johnny - once more for the record, I don't think you're stupid. Wrong-headed, yes; stupid, no.

DXB - what Dudley said. I use them to indicate the facial expression I'd be wearing if I was saying what I was typing, though I must admit I do overuse the damn things.

As ever, the blanket rule of "don't say online what you wouldn't be prepared to say to someone's face" applies, and sorts the problems you delineated in yer post.

Moore: first high-profile post-2000AD DC gig - SWAMP THING, where he created John Constantine, HELLBLAZER.

Diggle: first high-profile post-2000AD DC gig - LADY CONSTANTINE, based on an ancestor of John's. Up next? SWAMP THING.

Just sayin'...

January, IIRC. Check Amazon UK. If DC have announced it, Titan will have given it a release date.

Star Wars: KOTOR (Knights Of The Old Republic, non-gamers) is due out on PC on November 18th, IIRC. So with HALO already out... X-what again?

My favourite recent lines are "Great is Klarvor and his transsexual lightning!" from TALES OF TELGUUTH, and of course "The Unrighteous Brothers are out to steal the Kabob of Gnob!" from STRONTIUM DOG.

I had temporarily been possessed by the Star*-born Thing, and being a loyal Squaxx I knew that Thrill-Power was the only way to beat it out of me!

*Note star/stellar/Stella labour-intensive pun-progression here, which should be enough to make you buy the book JUST TO MAKE IT STOP.
