It's ?2.50 to get in and a pound a pint all day. If you want to buy books, merch etc., then you'll need money for them - but a quick glance at the web shop prices should sort you out for how much.
If you want to buy art, however, come prepared. Depending on the artist, a page will set you back anywhere from ?20 to ?250. There are plenty of cash machines within easy walking distance of the Oxford Union, but you may need to sort some in advance if you've got your eye on something specific (and a ?200 a day limit, like me!)
There's cheap (i.e. fast) food available all around the venue, and there's a particularly nice (but not cheap) curry house 2 mins walk away. There should also be some food on sale in the venue, but I don't yet know what form it'll take.
What I'd recommend on the day itself - from what I know is definitely on - is talking to as many wandering artists and writers as possible, as they're all very nice, even Gordon (and don't be afraid of 'mistaken identity' - nobody knows who *all* the 2000AD people look like, and nobody's ego is too large that they'd be offended!).
The Pitch Fest is always a good laugh, as last years' attendees will confirm - who knows, with a bit of the ol' Dutch courage inside you, maybe wou'd fancy a go!
Over and above that... dunno!
