I'd try asking on the Comics Journal messageboard at www.tcj.com ? they're the most likely guys to have covered this period...

'Course, what that ad doesn't show is said pirate's mates coming round to kick seven bells out of those grassing kids ? what with them HAVING THEIR HOME ADDRESS, and all...

My personal favourite wacky porn title is probably JURASSIC F**K: ATTACK OF THE PORNOSAUR, though I have to give a dishonourable mention for worst taste ever to SCHINDLER'S FIST.

Um. Much as I hate to imply the latter, it always seemed pretty clear to me that both Steff and Nige have a very good understanding of the minutiae of film-making, and most of their points seemed spot-on to me.

And, in all honesty, what exactly is ambiguous about describing a film as ? for example ? "Arsewater"?

There are two reasons, specifically, why I have unholy love for VIDS ? and no, they're not just Steff & Nige:-

1) VIDS introduced me to the *awesome* THE BRIDE WITH WHITE HAIR

2) Nige's review of Tupac's movie GANG RELATED, which he described as "arsewater". Marvellous!

MOVIEWATCH was OK, I guess, but slightly hamstrung by being on too early in the evening, and by basically having know-nothing punters do the reviews, much as really, really bad movies now have adverts with dim multiplex livestock (? Charlie Brooker) telling you how wonderful the movie was...

Adam and Joe can be seen week in, week out, being about half-funny on Channel 4 list shows.

Ross, it has to be said, knows whereof he speaks. Does anyone remember his excellent INCREDIBLY STRANGE FILM SHOW? Introduced a teenaged me to many, many high-quality flicks... unlike, say, C5's OUT THERE, which just throws as much at the wall as it can to see what sticks.

And VIDS. God, I miss VIDS...

I've not heard that many good things about Blueyonder. I'm on Pipex Solo2Go, which costs me ?25 pcm and had a ?25 setup. No modem cost, no hiddens. Service 100% since it started in Feb. The one time I had a problem (when I had to reinstall and lost all my passwords) they were the model of help and professionalism. I *heart* Pipex!

TBH, with all the cuts, you're going to miss some of the best bits of S7 - i.e. blood and gore aplenty :(

Pfft. Fine, then.

Oi, Tharg! Do we still have time to invite Terry Pratchett as guest of honour?
