Years ago, there was a sub-Spice Girls girlband, with (I think) three bored Tesco's shopgirls in ill-fitting "sexy" clothes and crap hair, all with faces like bags of spanners, who did a song that featured them miming "yapping" (with their hands, in a dismissive way) while "singing":

"Meh-neh-meh-neh, don't get fresh with me"

It was the single worst thing I'd ever seen at the time, and I'd dearly love to know what it was.

Any ideas?

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the overhaul of this forum for making it accessible via my mobile.

In the old days, my phone used to die if attempting to load anything on the 2000AD site, forum included- but today I discovered it's all been redesigned and works a charm. So now I can access TWO websites via my device- here and Facebook. What are the chances, eh?

Sadly, I can't seem to log in at the moment via my phone, but I'm sure that's just me being thick, so I'll keep working on it before panicking.

Basically- yes. The place is like a cave, chocka with period L&H memorabelia- with a DVD cinema shoved on the side. It's amazing- and the bloke is lovely, has been there since The Very Dawn Of Time, and the MOST Enthusiastic MAN in THE world!

This has inspired me, I've wanted to see that place for years, and I may just take a spin out there very soon - it's not that far from Manchester. Their website is brilliant in it's amateurishness. I love the way it takes a while to load (but with THAT music to keep you entertained) and then opens with the sentence "This weekend, Saturday 18th April we will be making our move to bigger, brighter and better premises at the Roxy Cinema on Brogden Street, Ulverston. "

Ulverston! That's it. And yes, I remember now that it was soon to be moving when I was there last July... so in all probability it's now in a soulless prefabricated building, with everything sorted into neat displays and the lovable man replaced by a teenager dressed as Laurel reading from a multi-lingual guidebook.

Hope not though. It was just like someone had taken every existing L&H thing and shovelled them into a roughly-hewn cave, then put a man in to look after it, with nothing but L&H movies for company, for fifty years.

One of the autistic guys I took up there is a massive fan and he was absolutely overwhelmed.

I've strongly disagreed with spooky steev on a number of topics (redheaded nu-who companions and Disney spring to mind) but I was shocked on the other thread to read about his trouble on facebook. And he agrees with me about subs, which is great, cos no-one else does.

I'm going off to try and change my name and picture now- for reasons that may be obvious. Can I, in the spirit of newfound loveliness here, just ask people to consider if all this talk of "Forum Cancer" is entirely appropriate in the light of some of the stuff going on over in the 'Life Spugs' thread.
