Hmmmm, a pretty laugh-free trailer for me. Will probably wait for this on telly or something.

I just watched Choke. By the first ad beak I thought, the writing is really good. So, on checking Wiki about it, it turns out its based on Chuck  of Fight Club writer's book Choke. And Sam Rockwell fast becoming the laid back, US version of Gary Oldman, he's great in it.

Really enjoyed that movie, I reckon Sam Rockwell's massively underrated as he's brilliant in everything he does.

Had a quick go on one and the 3D effect reminded me of lenticular dvd covers. You know, where it looks a bit 3D until it moves even slightly and then it looks like a blurry mess. Concluded that I'd get a bit annoyed with it for gaming.

I can hear the little pop when 17 starts but I can't actually hear the tone, so I guess 16 is my limit. I'm 30 and a musician, so I'm actually pleasantly surprised.

Just watched Martyrs. It'll probably be a while before I know exactly how I feel about that one, but I know I don't feel particularly happy.

The only thing that didn't quite work for me was the countdown towards the end of the series. When it's first introduced it barely ticks down for about 3 weeks, then he zooms across the galaxy and in the last part it's suddenly nearly at zero.

Isn't that sort of the point? The galaxy's a big place.

Yeah, I get the actual logic of it, I mean it didn't work for me as a dramatic device. When it gets introduced it's constantly appearing so it's obviously supposed to add some urgency, but it never feels that way because the countdown doesn't really move until it's suddenly running out.

It was still brilliant, I just found that a weird choice. It may well have worked for other folks.

Looks pretty ace to me, look at her run  :)

Not that I'm the most PC guy in the world, but I did think the ocmments on that article were a bit mean. Bunch of folks saying she's not attractive enough and that she has a crap figure, you wonder what the hell kind of standards these people have in mind. Mind you, I'm sure all the people typing those comments are specimens of physical perfection.

I've never seen nor heard of Dreamscape, but just from those snippets I think I now should.

oh and the moviprep is vile! i didnt drink  both sachets (didnt atually need to ouch!!!

Tell me about it - I'm just chugging the last glass of my two litres of the disgusting stuff and it's like Niagara Falls round the back. In the leaflet it says "go to bed when you stop going to the toilet for example at 11 o'clock"  note: it doesn't say you will stop by 11 o'clock!

That's easily the worst part, trying to drink that stuff without puking! I was wretching with every mouthful. I'd bought a can of Fanta and just looked at it every now and then so I knew I had a nice tasty reward at the end.

The actual bumcam ordeal isn't too bad, if they hit a rough patch it can be pretty sore (like really intense trapped wind) but that doesn't last long. Plus the drugs are absolutely fantastic, I'm sure I was watching the screen and babbling something about making an FMV videogame where you have to 'open all the bumdoors'.

Books & Comics / Re: Whats everyone reading?

Just picked up 'I'm In The Band' by Sean Yseult, all about her days in White Zombie. It's kind of like a photo diary/biog, haven't read anything but have had a flick through it. Seems great stuff, not least because Ms Yseult made quite the impression on me as a youngster.

Games / Re: is two worlds 2 out yet?

Apparently the packaging for the games was destroyed during shipping, and as a result the release in some regions has been cancelled. There's some reports that it might never get a release in the UK at all now because of the cost involved with doing it again.

I see she's been trolled a bit on the Amazon reviews now, this being my favorite:

"Imagine my disappointment when I listened to this, expecting "an exciting sea adventure with enough suspense and romance" to make me laugh and cry, set in exotic locations like Greece, Lebanon and, topically enough, Libya. And what did I get? A dry tale of accountancy procedural changes set against the social upheaval of 1960s Margate. Will our heroine manage to adapt to new guidelines regarding small-to-medium sized company payroll dates and get a new dress in time for Friday's big dance? I neither know nor care, frankly. One star only, and that is solely for the cover art - I was impressed, if not entirely surprised, that it featured the story's single interesting character, the mysterious and enigmatic freak man with a female head growing from the small of his back. His moving death scene, where he is killed by a swarm of revenge-crazed bees, stands as Howett's tour de force. Sadly the rest of the story does not even scale the foothills of this mountainous peak of dramatic storytelling. "

God, that's awful! A real cringe to read.

Off Topic / Re: Robert Granito

Wow, that was quite a saga. Made for interesting reading. You do wonder how long he thought he could get away with it. I used to work with a guy who claimed he was a war hero (used to wear military regalia to functions and tell all sorts of stories, only got found out when he insisted he'd been knighted so wanted his title changed on his payslips). He'd never even been in the army. When he was found out he was in the papers for basically shitting all over actual war heroes, reading this reminded me of that situation a lot. It always seemed to me that he didn't have any control over the lies, that there was a mental condition that just compelled him to do it, maybe Granito is the same and needs help. Or maybe he's just a trying to make a buck with lies.

Twilight Zone.

Oh, and I know it's not sci-fi, but I miss Masters Of Horror and would like it back please.
