I thought it was pretty good fun but the attempts to be grown up felt a bit Hollyoaks Latenight special., so was a bit of a cringefest at times. The sex scene even had my mum laughing. Will keep watching though.

My other half has an old eighties 2000AD annual where Tharg shows "an exemplary display of photon surfing" which is probably my favourite line in a comic ever.

They made a nice stocking filler, although one of the highlights of my year is curling up in bed on a cold winter day with the bumper xmas prog, so I prefer that really.

Books & Comics / Charles Burns' "Black Hole"

Anyone read this? My girlfiend has it so thought I'd read it and couldn't put it down 'til it was done. It's stuck with me as well, was a disturbing analogy for life as a teenager and was beautifully illustrated to boot. Recommended soundtrack whilst reading is "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven" by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, as that's what I was listening to and I don't think I'll ever hear the album without thinking of that book...

No expert, but I thought it looked great. So while I can't give you any technical advice I can say that I thought Dredd's helmet looked awesome!

"The Warriors is good fun Keef, especially if youre a fan of the film. Can you dig it?!"

Funnily enough I was listening to "Can You Dig It" by PWEI not 10 minutes ago, spooky. Will have to give that game a bash. Have to second Goldeneye and Robocop on the Amiga was the first game I ever completed so I will always love it. What was AvP on? The only one I know of was the strategy one which wasn't really my bag. Matrix game sounds like all style and no substance, which I guess you could argue is the Wachowskis through and through.

ps. about The Thing, I'd forgotten how unfairly difficult it gets towards the end, hugely frustrating but well worth persevering with even if the controller gets pitched across the room a few times.

Just watched this for the first time in years(still amazing) and it prompted me to dig out the old X-box game, and it's still a classic. Such a good job of capturing the essence of the movie and expanding on it, great fun. Made me wonder if there were any cool movie to game conversions that I might have missed, any examples of people who got it right? Or wrong, just read a review of Reservoir Dogs on PS2 and apparently has a paintball tutorial level, sounds utterly preposterous. Thankfully they've apparently cancelled the Taxi Driver game that was in production.

Might be another STP 'cause I haven't heard that one! Although there is a Stone Temple Pilots album I don't have so it could well be.

"go see Rammstein if the opportunity arises"

Well worth it. Musically I got bored as hell about halfway through, but visually it was incredible. One of very few arena shows where you can see where your money's going.
