Didn't know they were releasing those, will be great! Saw a video of his live band playing Escape From New York in the studio and it sounded fantastic.

Agree with you about Lost Themes II, it's brilliant. I enjoyed the first album but this is even better, love it.

Two weeks until the next episode (apparently the pilot went out a week early as a sort of sneak preview after Fear The Walking Dead to capitalize on those viewers and generate buzz before the proper series premiere next week - so next week is just the pilot again)!

Makes sense, but it'll be a long two weeks, I'm already really looking forward to more.

Wow, well remembered! That's the one, thanks!

Hello Hivemind!

Wondering if anyone can recall a Future Shock where someone made an epic journey in a spaceship and the final reveal was some graffiti (something along the lines of so and so 'Was Here')?

A colleague is trying to hunt it down and it rings a bell but I can't remember any more details!

Very sad, he was such a huge presence here - I remember when I first joined the forum he was one of the first boarders who really made a huge impression. I never met him, but he was such a legend round these parts that it really feels like we've lost one of the good guys. Reading through this thread it's clear he had a similarly big impact on everyone here. Awful news.

Yeah I have to say I loved that and was a bit gutted when the episode ended, could have easily gone another couple of hours of it and it's a while since I thought that about a show.

They've obviously changed a lot of the events, but the tone is spot on and the writing and cast are nailing the characters (Cassidy is fantastic). More please!

The stories in Slaine and ABC Warriors completely pass me by nowadays, I have no idea what's going on or when these things are set in the grand scheme of things to be honest. Usually the art sees me through both, and Slaine in particular always looks incredible, but these last few episodes it seems there's really not been much for Davis to work with so it's struggled to hold my interest.

Have only had Zombicide out 3 or 4 times so far, but it is great fun (we have struggled to beat the first proper mission though if I'm honest). Mine isn't painted yet!

This week a pal at work found the 1982 Judge Dredd board game by Games Workshop in his attic and offered to swap me it for a packet of bourbon creams, so that's a stroke of luck.
the rescued kids turning all Jerusalem's Lot, and who was in the resurrection chamber when Matt broke into the hideout? I guess maybe all of the Hand's ninjas go through there, Wolverine comic showed they are pretty much all brought back from the dead.
.

Haven't read the comics, but my read of it in the show was that
there was never anyone in it, rather everything they were doing with the blood etc. was prep work to 'charge' it for a single use, and it's purpose was always to bring Elektra back if things went that way.
Could be wrong though, but was the way it seemed to me!

Has Michonne been any good Satanist? I usually play pretty much everything Telltale put out but this one sort of snuck by me. Think I was feeling a bit burnt out after just finishing the (very excellent) Borderlands series they did, and didn't want to move straight onto another TT thing.

Never even occurred to me that the Ambassador could use their peeks at the deck to get a feel for what people have! Will need to try that next time. Mrs Monkey was very much in the 'take one coin' and keep a low profile camp, and did really well.

The portability of it is super handy, when you're heading to a friend's and unsure if you should take a game along it's something you can throw in a coat pocket as an afterthought (as I've done today).

Prog / Re: Prog 1977

Got no problem with the prog crossing over with the meg as I read both, and it made for a very cool lunch break to read the two back to back like that.

As for the whole Dredd being dead thing, my first thought (spoilering although I'm sure most people have come to the same conclusion) is that
he was teleported out of the H Wagon a moment before the explosion (hence the weird wibbly effect on it just before it blew up). As for why, I'd assume they could conspire to fake his death to get Brit Cit off their backs and get aid from them. That or aliens did it or something, but it definitely seemed pretty obvious to me that some sort of teleporty shenanigans had gone down.
I do like the idea of Rico taking on the Dredd mantle for a few months, and even that could be Rebellion testing the water to see if they can finally get away with that (I've always assumed that was the plan from the moment he was introduced). Really though, I reckon
the meg will follow Rico and the prog will follow Dredd wherever he may have been teleported to
.

Great story whatever happens.

Rest of the prog was decent, the Tharg tale went over my head a bit and I didn't get the twist at the end of Survival Geeks but other than that it was cracking.

Just finished off Daredevil S2 last night, loved it. Never really clicked with Elektra,
her character didn't seem particularly sympathetic to me so she was just kind of the nuisance who kept popping up and throwing a spanner in the works. Not sure I ever bought that Matt would ditch his blossoming relationship with Karen or his friendship with Foggy. I did love seeing Foggy come to the realization he's a kickass lawyer, and was nice to see Karen finding her calling too.

The real thrill for me though was the handling of The Punisher, which I thought was superb. Bernthal was fantastic, and he was written as a much more sympathetic character than I expected. As a big Punisher fan (it's the only Marvel comic I've ever really dug deep into) I was absolutely thrilled with his depiction.

On top of that the fight scenes were better than ever (I remember being really impressed with the corridor fight in S1, but within three episodes S2 blows that out the water. That stairway fight is probably the best action scene I've seen in a TV show), and the whole thing looked really stylish (as much as I really enjoyed Jessica Jones I feel like the telly budget is more apparent in that than DD, particularly where the action is concerned).

Very happy with it, and the last scene with Frank had me punching the air, that shot of him walking away from his burning home with the minigun was great and the Micro disc shows they've got some plans for him in the future. Curious to see if he gets his own show or if he'll be popping up in Luke Cage.
Short version is I really liked it.

Played a few games of Coup at the weekend for the first time, mainly because it was small so we could stick it in a pocket. Really enjoyed it, particularly liked that everyone got the rules very quickly and that it was so fast to set up fresh games so everyone was up for playing over and over again. There's definitely something to be said for games you can pull out and be playing almost immediately. Everyone just bluffed they had a duke eventually though, that seems to be the fastest way to get some coins and start getting your Coup on.

Been wanting to watch Predestination for a while after finding that team's previous film Daybreakers surprisingly enjoyable.

Watched Emelie, it's a creepy babysitter story with a pretty standard set-up, but the ways in which her creepiness comes out and the way she messes with the kids is pretty unsettling and it's an uncomfortable watch at times. There are some really tense scenes and the performances are good, particularly from the kids who are surprisingly natural.
