Megazine / MEG 270 : WEAPONS OF WAR
31 March, 2008, 04:41:44 PM
No Meg thread yet? Sorry if it's up but I can't find it.

Just started a rifle through but a nice Paul Marshall Dredd certainly catches the eye.

Nice action packed letters page too!

'Offspring' fair narrows it down and it looks like Mean Machine Jnr. is a good, but not welcome, call. Although debunked as a true relative could it be Mercey Shakespeare?

That or a Father Earth sapling coming on the revenge trail.

My two pence is on DeMarco. Her solo series never really caught on and she's important enough to generate a 'wow' if she goes out in a blaze of glory.

Her or Cassidy out of 'Cry of the Werewolf'.

Film & TV / Re: Perfect as Tintin?

I'd say he's too young for Tintin. The 'boy reporter' must have done his 4 years at journalism school putting him at 22 or so. Not that he's ever been seen actually filing a story of course. The characters are supposedly going to be CGIed up to look like 'real life Herge' so I'll hold judgement until we get an idea of how things will actually look. Given that it's Spielberg and Jackson I'm inclined to think it'll be top notch.

I do not approve! That soppy wee git is very annoying and why the anti-terror squad didn't shoot him when he jumped the barrier at the airport in Love Actually I'll never know.

He was also in a Dr Who recently playing, yup, a soppy schoolboy.

What next? Robin Williams as Haddock and Cameron Diaz as Bianca Castifiore?

Hmm, I wonder if the role of Wagg is still up for grabs...

the buses in Milton Keynes which are the worst in Europe.

I take issue there Simpleton!

The number 9 Glasgow/Linwood that I get is a great 24 hour service but sadly it's populated by the worst festering pond scum you could imagine.

Being pissed (natch) I got it at 2am on a Saturday preferring to save £10 and an hour in the cab rank. We did manage about a mile before a big fight broke out with one bloodied bloke running up and down the aisle screaming. Despite being on the aisle myself I wasn't to fussed having a beer blanket to protect me. I was bothered however when the driver pulled over and phoned the cops while sat in his protective cocoon. after about 20 minutes with no action - well the cop shop was 5 minutes away what do you expect? I shoved my way past the grappling blokes and called the wife to get a lift. And to think she was unhappy at getting up!

Let's see, this thread could go on forever...

Just back from the gym, so on that topic I hate the sweaty bastards who get off the machine and leave their puddle for the next user. I also hate the tits who come on the machine next to you and look over to see you are doing 12KPH and they put theirs up to 12.5 Woo impressed!

Don't get me started on the cinema!

Women who get on the bus and then look for their purse like they weren't expecting fares to be charged that day.

Non-acknowledgement of small politenesses like opening doors for people or letting them out at junctions. Ignorant cnuts!

Although not always the PC barometer they certainly prefer 'black' in porno films, as in 'Black Dicks/White Chicks'.  I think that one is about a private eye investigating a chicken farm. With lots of shagging, naturally.

That was in a Family Guy I watched the other night when Chris was going to be a missionary 'Coloured still flies down there so get your fill'.

I can sympathise with ThryllSeekyr though, as he clearly didn't mean to offend. Perhaps 'Of what racial origin is Ramone?' would satisfy the PC world but who knows? You'd only leave yourself open to high handed retorts like 'What difference does that make?'. Indeed none, but it's a valid question to which my guess would be latino/Hispanic.

Not that it matters.

"one of the wags"

And I thought they just did shopping!

On a slightly related note has anyone seen this Youtube video about Ashley Cole? It's really funny and has the excellent refrain 'Why do you wanna go stick a mobile up your arse'.

Very true - I almost answered a post about Savage that refered to 'garbage trucks' - bin lorries where I come from!

I've see the Who trailer at the cinema a few times and although it looks OK there weren't many 'wow' moments and far too much Catherine Tate. At least there was Cribbens and a big wasp.

Getting to the stage where I could miss it and not bother too much. Like 'Ashes to Ashes' it's failed to engage me on an emotional level and frankly I couldn't really care less if it's recomissioned or not. That said I'll take it over Ant & Dec any day.

Sign me up! I liked the spear of Destiny one and the one with the bookshop that bridged two realitys, one of which the Nazi ruled. The only and significant downer were the men in black and their ponderous framing speeches.
