the opening reminded me of a Star Trek movie

Surely you mean Star Trek VI!

Cheers PVS, I knew it reminded me of one of them.

I think Tharg is missing the point with Valkyries, it's not the nudity (IMO) we object to, it's not even the artwork, it's just crap. I'm all for a bit of naked female flesh, even a bit of lesbo action, but the stories just crap!!!!

OK, Mr D, sorry, I should have said I not we. Do people on the board generally dislike nudity, even in better strips, like Dante for example?

Cover - Didn't like it when I saw it this afternoon on this thread, now that I've got it in my hands it's not so bad, I much prefer it to the one that appeared on the Meg.

Another comp, no Droid Life! Has anyone here actually won any of these comps?

Dredd, I love this, the opening reminded me of a Star Trek movie (sorry!), don't know why and can't think which one. I think the older looking Dredd is brilliant, he is getting on a bit Bou! I hope this lives up to its potential, Gordon?

Sin/Dex, so we didn't see this coming!! Is Isobel really dead? or is this building up for another episode? Like it.

Rogue, lovely, wouldn't that have been better in colour, lovely n' gory or what?

Valkyries, thank grud that's over.

Durham Red, I thought they'd already made Offspring mad enough to come at them already - wasn't that what happened at the end of Book 1?, didn't he come at them through someone else, from a great distance away, now he's coming in person? Always find the artwork on this too busy and hard to follow in places, I do like it, just takes a bit of working out sometimes, thought Johnny looked a bit weird on the third page. Love her outfit, can we have an action figure like this? Should be a good Durham Red romp though.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Gordon Rennie seems to be taking over? Not that I'm saying that's a bad thing you understand!!!

General / Re: NEW WHO . will they be scared?...
23 March, 2004, 02:59:26 AM
I alway remember being terrified by Dr Who as a kid, the Cybermen where always a favorite of mine. However in 2002 while visiting North Wales, myself and a friend visited the official Dr Who museum, very very interesting, but when you see some of the monsters, in the flesh (so to speak), it's difficult to imagine anyone being terrified by them. I guess that says a lot for the programme makers with the limited special effects of the time, they managed to thrill and terrify us week after week. Lets hope the makers of the new series are as good as the old.

The museum is well worth a visit by the way.

Black and white printing is more expensive than 4 col printing (more inks, more units on press, longer press time etc.), but only if complete sections are b&w, if there's colour in the section then it makes no difference. Publications are printed in sections ranging from 4, 8, 12, 16 etc.

I would imagine though that Art is correct in that the b&w strips are for arts sake rather than for financial savings.
