I've been having trouble sleeping for about a month.  I put it down to work stress and being long overdue some time off, which I've had to postpone for most of the year due to a succession of terribly important deadlines that were, of course, set by somebody else.  Who, I've noticed, has had plenty of time off in that period.

I'm not bitter though.  Oh no.  What I am, is vengeful.

Cover: Oi, who's got my other staple?

Dredd: Um, s'okay, chin aside.

Dead Men Walking: Awful.  It doesn't help that they've used a desperately poor line twice.  I did like the drowned slave bit though.

Caballistics: Great.  Just plain embarrassingly better than everything else in the prog.

Synnamon: Seemed to pick up a bit this week.  Still not exactly very good though.  It's the first time the last page has made me want to see the next one.

Durham Red: Hurrah for some much-needed explanation of what's going on.  I'm betting withholding this until episode three put off quite a few newcomers.

(Exile) Now, off to find a copy :-)

Steer clear of the AGA version - the stupid big graphics render it unplayable unless you know exactly what you're doing, due a vital button being forced off-screen.

Yes, there were two flexi-discs.  The Sabbat flexi was released some time in 1987, "Blood for the Blood God" being the name of the track.  I could probably find out the issue number if anyone is really bothered.

1)If it is right to call a being god, will she have the power to do anything? Yes.

2)Can god make 1+1=72? No.

The "god" of question 2 is the websites idea of god and at no point did I say that it was right to call that being god.

Er, where do you get that from?  I didn't feel that the web site was presenting any particular version of God - how you answer the questions merely sets up your idea of God, whether you believe in that idea or not, and you get "hit" based on contradictions to that idea.

Your idea of God is an all-powerful being, even if you don't believe such a being exists.  I don't believe in the concept of "all-powerful" since it is so easily refuted ("can God create a rock too heavy for God to lift", being the most obvious example), and therefore answered no to both.

Zero hits, zero bullets here.

I've had a play with one but wouldn't buy one.  The controls are uncomfortable (possibly my hands are just too big for it, but it felt cramped and clumsy), changing games is a pain in the arse and you look like a twat if you try to make a phone call on it.

I'd suggest waiting for version two, which couldn't help but be better, but if the sales don't pick up the very well might not be a version two.

Yeah?  Well why don't you go bold yourself?

Oh, hang on, I see what you meant now.

"Lovely, polished piece of art from Ian Gibson that seems to bear little relation to the character it's supposed to be portraying."

You're all saying this like it's a bad thing.

And the reason I've missed Caballistics out is, of course, that it was too good to associate with the rest of that prog.  Yes.

Caballistics: Erm, coruscating, or something.

The cadets all survived.

I flicked over it but I don't think Devlin is done yet.

Dredd: Excellent fun.  Snail! Snail!

Death: Okay.  Didn't suffer the "what the hell is supposed to be happening in that panel?" problem I had last month.

Devlin: Haven't read it yet.  May not bother.

History of Battle: Interesting.  I remember wearing that Baron Ironblood mask.

Harry Twenty & Charley's War: Good stuff.  Best reprints we've had for ages.

XTNCT: Bloody marvellous.  Having ground my teeth through the endless ironic punnery and pop culture references of certain other 2000AD writers, the piss-takes on that front were very welcome.

Armitage: Okay.  Was the dismembered body with the head in a bottle supposed to be still alive?

Apocalyse Soon: Is anyone actually enjoying this?  I know I'm not.

Well, it doesn't feel like all that long ago.

Erm, it's probably just that memorable.  Or something.

Dredd: Looks like it could be interesting, but not much going on so far.

Dead Men Walking: Lovely art, so-so story.

Caballistics, Inc: Okay.  A lot of recapping for something that's only been out of the prog for a month or so, but probably still the highlight of the issue.

Synnamon: So it's a Banks rip-off with Borg in it.  It's still rubbish and the name is still stupid.

Durham Red: I've skipped over most of Durham Red for years, so I've got no idea at all what's going on now.  Which makes me wonder whether it was a wise choice for a convenient jumping on point for new readers.  It looks nice though.

Overall: Pretty pictures, pretty thin stories.  Maybe I'm just in a bad mood.

Several pages of Guinevere photos http://www.empiremovies.com/gallery/king_arthur/king_arthur_pictures_06.shtml" target="_blank">here.  There are also a lot of pictures of men with daft beards and dafter helmets, which look a bit on the made-for-TV side to me.
