As I mentioned in the Prog 1549 thread I felt that the placement of the last couple of panels should be swapped for the sake of the story.

Obviously this is me being VERY petty as the strip is fantastic but there was just something about ending the page on the robot lawyer instead of Dredd that didn't read right to me. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION.

I've crudely amended it using paint.

Tell me if you agree or disagree, obviously only if you've read it and don't mind spoilers.

Oh yes and if anyone from Rebellion is bugged by this please take this post down. I won't be offended.

Just listened to the Everything Comes Back to 2000ad interview with PJ and the impression I got was that the upcoming Block War story he's working on is something different to the Tales of the Black Museum slot.

He mentions that he isn't sure if he should be saying this but the Meg are going to be running flashback stories of pivotal events in the Meg's history.

I assume if this was just a Tale from the Black Museum he would have said as much.

Obviously I could be very wrong and could be reading too much into what he said but I would love to see some sort of a Flashback style strand in the Megazine as I think we're really suffering from not having some Dredd flavoured one offs.

Thats all well and good but it doesn't change the fact that Brit Cit has never really felt like it belongs to the same world as Dredd. There's something about the design of the place that just seems wrong somehow in my opinion.

Wildcat?

Only 12 issues of Wildcat were published, starting on October 22nd 1988, it ran fortnightly until it merged with Eagle on April 12th 1989.Although you could say their was 13 issues with this Wildcat Preview that came free with 2000AD. Eagle,Buster,Whizzer and Chips, Oink,Roy of the Rovers, and Mask comics.

Also published - Holiday special 1989, Winter special 1989,Turbo Jones - Pathfinder trade paperback (reprints Turbo Jones strips) Loner 1-7 (mini-series reprinting Loner stories)United Kingdom Comic Art Convention (UKCAC) programme for 1989 as it features a Loner picture by David Pugh,Wildcat was on the Mask of New Eagle 08/04/89 to 21/04/90 (a total of 55 issues)

Turbo Jones predicted that a meteroid storm would destroy all life on Earth by radiation, so he set about building a spaceship called 'Wildcat'.

With his crew he went off to explore other planets,The stories were all about the members of the crew 'Turbo Jones' 'Joe Alien' 'Kitten Magee' and 'Loner' all separate stories exploring the same planet.

The Slaine preview was in the first Winter Special from way back in 1988.

Hopefully it should be below.

"Is it though? I thought it was established on another thread that Johnny's world is the inevitable future for Dredd's, not a potential one."

If this is the case can we seriously crack on and get a Brit Cit story in the Dredd timeline which feels like the Britain of SD.(Oh and can you remember which thread it was. I'm guessing its that Al Ewing story in a recent Meg though isn't it. The Alpha File one.)

Get Carlos on the case. I would love to see some circuit Judges working Milton Keynes (I'm assuming there must be already mutations in this area for it to be such a ghetto come the time of Johnny Alpha.

"In fact if any one feels especially kind, would someone be prepared to make a mock up of this in photoshop? If they would that would be great."

Oh oh. I'm approaching Scojo levels of obsessing over this. I've only gone ahead and down a v crude adjustment in paint. To me it reads better with the image of Dredd riding off into the sunset being the last panel on the page.

Does everyone think its too early to post it as this is what I'm thinking.

I would love to see a Dredd World Brit Cit story which looked more like the Britain that we see in the Strontium Dog stories (pre the Atomic War of 2150).

Obviously a link has already been established (Johnny's world is still a potential future for Dredd) but I would love to see things like Upminster in a Dredd story or even a young Norman Kreelman.

Plus I would love a redesign of the Brit Cit Judge uniform cos its really only Brendan McCarthy who's ever been able to pull it off.

Can't we have Inspector Judges with caps (with those ear flaps Ezquerra loves) instead of just the Lion Head Helmets on everyone.

Other Reviews / Re: Best of Judge Dredd - by Prion

Aside from Mrs Gundersons Big Adventure I think its telling that all of the other stories are available in the Case Files or their own TPBs.

I think like most people are saying this is more of a sampler. Hopefully once people have read this they'll consider the case files for their next purchase.

I seem to remember being blown away by the reveal of the Elder Gods in Time Killer by Glen Fabry. Is it my memory or did he do two almost identical heavily detailed pictures?

I also loved the Bisley preview art for the Horned God which was in the centre spread of one of the Winter Specials. For some reason I loved the fact that he was in tartan.

Has this ever been reprinted? I skimmed through the recent Horned God collection I can't recall it being in there.

Apologies if this is too much info but like an idiot I've just been on Barney and compiled into roughly chronological published order all the Judge Dredd stories from the annuals, specials, poster progs etc and there's loads. I haven't even included the stories inc supporting cast ie Max Normal or the Angel Gang so I think we can safely say if there isn't going to be a two volume edition of the case files zero than we may just have to lose the likes of Judge Planet 2 and Dredd of Drokk Green.

Which stories do you think should make the grade?
