I cannot reitterate enough that that is NOT the final and correct version of the costume.

Cool. I would actually buy one if it looks as good as the Anderson one. I might get the Anderson for the Missus an' all. Y'know, for...fancy dress parties. That sort of thing... :-[

Any word on price?

The Anderson one is better

Yeah. Wonder why there's such a big difference in quality.

Bah. 2 new Captain Britain figures and I still don't get a classic Alan Davis costume.

I'll try and be less cutting about certain stories this week to avoid pissing anybody off.

Cover- These kind of 'stock' covers always stand out for me. I love to see a nice, iconic Dredd shot accompanied by some authoritarian wordage. Like it.

Judge Dredd- At least Dredd's back in the strip this week. I am enjoying it, but as vzzbux said, it seems to be going on too long with too little happening.

Shakara- It seems like this is obviously heading to a mutual destruction scenario with Shakara and Brenneka going out with a bang together. Mind you, it might surprise me by doing something totally different. I hope Shakara survives as I'm not ready for it to end just yet.

Ampney Crucis- I'm not sure who that fellow in the alley is so I've probably missed the point of the ending. Anybody care to shed some light? (And no, I didn't skim read it.)

Necrophim- Well, I didn't expect that. It was all wrapped up quite nicely in the end. I do wonder exactly what Uriel's problem was to be honest. It seems like all he really wanted to do was stop Lucifer shagging a few demons. I'd like to know in what way Cythea will be improving things.

Kingdom- Gene's going to go APESHIT!!! 'Your head is full of wrong!'. Brilliant.

I enjoyed the prog this week. Still not keen on Necrophim or Ampney Crucis but you can't please everyone. Really looking forward to Flesh next week!

Looks really nice.

Is this for Strip Magazine or a standalone graphic novel?

Barton Fink is a really good watch from a very anti-hero perspective.

Barton Fink is the best film ever about a man who doesn't realise he's in hell.

I've seen almost all of these films and enjoyed them all for different reasons. I'd have to say The Big Lebowski is my favourite though, just for sheer enjoyment. And for Walter.

10 quid says The Big Lebowski wins by a country mile.

And it's films not movies. We're not in bally America donchaknow?

That's a really good synopsis.

In a little more detail:

23rd century Earth is out of meat. So they send cowboys back to cull the dinosaurs (the Real Reason the Dinosaurs Became Extinct!, so said the tagline).

Old Red Eye (One eye?), female leader of a pack of T-Rexes, gets a taste for man-meat and goes on a bloody rampage.

That's about it. The main characters were some non-descript do-gooder and "Claw" Carver, a mean spirited hard son-of-a-gun with a velociraptor claw for a hand (having killed the critter that bit it off).

I'm sure there will be a summary in the prog. But, TBH, it was all about Old Red killing cowboys.

EDIT: Satanus, of Judge Dredd fame, was Old Red's son. But that's a whole lotta continuity chaos right there.

Thanks for that. I knew most of that already as it turns out but I thought there may have been other significant stuff that happened.

Anyway, I can't wait for this.

QuoteI'm excited about this despite never having read the first series.

Wasn't there a collection of the first 2 Flesh books released? I just had a look on the 2000AD books website and can't see any sign of it.

It was released, but now it's out of print. It's getting reprinted this year, but in the chunky Case Files style format (and with a new name: The Dino Files), and the new printing will also include the new series.

Right. I'll be having that.

Sorry to be a pain but could someone give me a brief synopsis of the first series, just so I know I know what's happened before? Cheers.

Does anyone feel like answering my question? I've got money burning a hole in my pocket here and I want some dinosaurs!

Amazon have it listed as released in 2009 but it's unavailable. Anybody know if it's out there?

My god. I just started reading the synopsis supposedly written by George Lucas for episode 7 on that website.
What a load of shit. If that's been anywhere near anybody involved in the Star Wars films then my name's Tatum O'Neal.
