That looked a lot better than Meet the Spartans by virtue of the fact it seems to hark back to old school spoofs where there is actually a plot.

Epic Movie, Date Movie, Scary Movie 2,3 and 4 were all just a bunch of jokes from various film sources.

This one actually might have potential.

I really enjoyed it.  Good fun, funny.
Would like to see it as a half hour series.

Bought it at Bristol - no free original panel in it but I did get a little sketch in the front.

Bloody brilliant.  Read it on the train home, just finished a second read.

Now for the sequel - yeah?

Whereabouts are you in the writing of it Si?
Have you scripted all the way to the end yet or are you and Fraze still adding/changing stuff as it goes?

Byrne's complaint is that too often a book solicited as monthly will not come out as a monthly book, but the writer/artist will say it's because they are working hard on it and the fans will know it's worth it when it arrrives.  His point is to not solicit a book as monthly unless you are going to bring it out monthly.
Something like Fraser having to look after his Mum because she was ill is not the same thing at all.

I'm not a blanket Byrne defender, but in this case you are having a go at him for something he hasn't done.
Chill guys.

Books & Comics / Re: Bone. The thread.

I also have Stupid, Stupid Rat Tails.  The story of Big Johnson Bone.
It's a sort of prequel to Bone, telling why rat-creatures have no tails and some other stuff.
It's just as fun and well woth buying if you are a Bone fan and haven't read it yet.

I think it's just one of those "fall off a chair laughing" moments that so rarely happen.
And it's still funny every time, it actually makes the re-read that bit funnier when you look at what the rat creatures go through.

Bone is one of my favourite books - comic or prose.
It's epic, sweet natured and a rollicking good read.

I love:
the rat creature obsessed by quiche
Bartleby's return
The reason the rat creatures are hunting the Bones - one the funniest reveals ever.
The various plots and ploys of Phoney Bone - both seen and related.
Just so much to love.

As it gets darker and broader in its sweep - it's impossible not to get carried along.

Film & TV / Re: No Country For Old Men...........

I felt slightly disappointed at the end.
If it had ended at the motel or the house I could just about have accepted it.
But for all of it's talk about the world being too much for old men, I never felt it was bloody or disgusting enough when Tommy's character turned up to have the impact it was supposed to.
Loved most of it, just let down by the ending really.
