Film & TV / Re: Superman Returns

let's face it, conexus just hit the nail on the head in 3 words.  'compare and contrast'.  does anyone not think christopher reeve was the perfect superman???  how can you live up to that, especially with a half assed attempt to update the costume.  he will be judged against christopher reeves and inevitably fall short.

you're saying the tardis is selectively buggered when it's required to do so??  that's lazy writing in my book, just pop's up and 'hey presto' there is a super problem wherever/whenever they land.  may have been feasible when i was a kid but now???  i'm not sure if i can take another 9 episodes of that happening.  but i have faith, it's been great so far.

i thought the episode was great (what everyone said before was spot on). one thing no-one has mentioned, though, is the thread they are running through the last couple of episodes, namely the tardis.  it's buggered.  either the doctor is a crap driver of epic proportions - thereby exposing some as yet unseen fault in his character (did that happen with any of the other doctors, and with such regularity - i can't remember??) or they are setting up a future story about the tardis busting.  it has parralels with han and the falcon, i can't wait for the doctor to shout 'it's not my fault'.

ok, i'm going hollywood for this:
-i would have gone for a young bruce campbell as zenith!!!  but now maybe vince vaughn?
-val kilmer as lux, obvious doors reference.
-older model trying to regain her looks?  gotta be liz hurley.
-terence stamp as peter, good choice.
-richard wilson as manager, another good choice.
-mastertman????? i'm at a loss for this one, vin deisel?

Other Reviews / dredd vs death
21 October, 2003, 10:20:29 PM
did anyone else find that the game was to easy??  even on the most difficult level on x box it took me a mere 6hrs to complete, getting judge dredd or senior judge ranking on every level!  for 40 pounds i would have been most upset, luckily i rented it from my video store for 3 pounds, and for that alone i enjoyed the game.
jon
p.s.  hi ex, heat seeker and incendary are fun but the other 3 bullets are pants!
