Yeah, I remember buying prog 534! It was during the summer holidays in 1987 and I was 13 years of age. Ahh... great days, indeed. Well almost great. 2000ad was going through a bit of a bad patch back then (remember Fairly Hyperman and Mean Arena?). Luckily just around the corner was Torquemada, Zenith, Oz and Nemesis! The one major thing I remember about that issue was the fantastic Liam Sharpe debut artwork on Dredd. Great piece of art. Can this be the same man who turned in some truly dreadful stuff for the ABC Warriors a couple of years ago? What happened?
By the way I hopped onto the 2000ad crazy train with prog 444 and hopped of after Necroplolis. Stupid old me! I rejoined in January 2000, primarily to see if they'd change the name and have been on board ever sinse. Through thick and thin alike.
