LOL!

But, seriously, there could actually be some fun to be had about this.  In the Devlin Waugh meets Dredd story, at least one of the judges was making lots of homophobic comments.  And it's not impossible that a group of heavily repressed people might have very dodgy attitudes to same-gender sex.

So, what if you had two same-sex Judges having a bit of extrajudicial on the side?  They could sneak around for much longer than a male & female judge.  There's definitely scope there for a "none so blind as those that will not see" type story, could get in some decent parallels with current events in the Church of England as Yer Slips implies.  Definitely a one-off but could be good.

Harry Twenty avoided this problem by liberal use of Weasels.

A solution that could be applied in many walks of life.  If only someone could get the message to Iain Duncan Smith...

That's the reason I haven't had rave reviews for my first Dredd mega-epic - I'm not good enough (yet,/i>, anyway).  So the fact (and it is a fact) that I can't come up with a really clever future swearword on the spur of the moment doesn't invalidate the criticism.

Anyway, I could say that *anything* would make a good swearword ("Pella!"), but really it would depend on the flow of the language throughout the strip, which makes it pointless to offer something here in isolation.

Hear hear!  I've said it before, but just putting a "v" in place of another consonant is stupid.

If it's an adult comic, you should be able to f***, s***, even c*** it out to your heart's content.  Vuck, shiv or vunt are just silly.

On the other hand, if you want to impose some censorship - and nothing wrong with that, personally I reckon banning swearing and nudity might even stimulate certain droids' creativity - then make up some decent words!  Drokk! Skev! Funt!  Good words - you can see the relationship with real swearwords but some thought's been put into them.

"Vuck", indeed.  You should be ashamed.

No, I meant the story with the judge asking for Dredd's help in the trial, plus the build-up in various promotional messages etc.  If it was an epilogue it should have been billed as an epilogue, happened immediately after the Sin City story, and included more than the utter basics of Orlok's life.  Given that the defence had x? months to dig around for mitigating evidence, what was shown was pretty dumb.

Totally agree with Will, the Orlok trial was one of the biggest letdowns in Dredd history.  Why bother with all the buildup in order to create such an easy ending?  And the characterisation of Orlok was totally wierd.

They'd better not be bringing him back.  That would be, like, soooo lame....
