We're going to need a bigger boat.
You know those guys in the fantail launch?  Well, none of them will get out of the harbour alive.
I can do anything, I'm the Chief of police.

Smile, you son of a bitch!

Why do some of the messages on some threads not have a "reply" function attached?  I thought at first it meant that these people had killfiled me (which would probably be desreved after the old slagging match with jonnyeyebrows, in whih i was in the wrong) - but it's different people each time, and I can reply to the same people on other threads...?

Hi

Ages ago I read a Batman comic where he was fighting child sex slavery abroad (the Philippines?), which contrasted the simplicities of the supervillains he usually fought with the more diffuse nature of real evil...

What is it called and when was it published?

While it obviously wasn't enough to save the ENORMOUS PILE OF BATPOO that was "Batman and Robin", Alicia Silverstone COULD have been a good bat girl.  Sure like to see her in rubber again sometime...

Some humourless PC obsessives might point out that the usual reason for Eastern European, Asian, whatever women to put themselves up for marriage to someone they've hardly met who lives several thousands of miles away is likely to be money or passport issues.  As such you're hardly going to kill the goose (or fat wheezing 60-year-old white guy) that lays the golden egg: why chance the will on NOT having the clean the kitchen?

On the other hand, the only time I saw this situation up close (a BEAUTIFUL Malaysian woman who'd married a very well-off guy old enough to be her father, if he'd started having children at 40), I have to say that she had turned his life into pure hell.  He did all housework, cooking, cleaning, ironing, twice a week he accompanied her round the town bringing out his credit card on demand for anything she fancied buying and carrying huge armfuls of shopping, he watched as she went and flirted shamelessly with any and every man that caught her eye (including me: nobody said she was picky), and he suffered as she occasionally turned round and abused him at the top of her voice for being a shit lover and a bad husband, for not being rich enough, for having a tiny...
The point of it all being, I suppose, that i've never seen anybody look quite as happy as that guy did on those days.

Have to say, if you find yourself agreeing with this guy on any points, you probably shouldn't get married.  Because you have an appalling attitude to women, and they've moved on from having to put up with that crap.

Unfortunately.
